    pmac Z,, IT'S COMPLICATED!!!!!

Just interested to hear from those of you that run autos and have changed to using synthetic oil.
How much difference dose it make?
Exactly what is the difference? Sharper shifting up/down etc?
    Is it worth doing?

    Thanks in advance.

I would highly recommend Penrite ATF FS (Full Synthetic)

I changed with a fresh rebuild and seat of the pants says it was less "squishy" for a lot longer, although after 30,000k's its starting to feel a little squishy but still good but 5 odd years old its time to change under moderate duty usage any way, looks and smells like the day it went in.

Manual says change every 50,000k's/24 months for moderate to heavy duty use and light duty inspect only all the way out to 95,000k's/48 months at 24,000k's/12 month intervals.

Previous experience with regular Dexron II/III was similar fresh fluid firmed things up but quickly became squishy and smell always seemed to be less then fresh fairly quickly, mind you that was on an auto coming up for rebuild.

I have absolutely no hesitation in spending the extra $20-$30 to go full synthetic ATF, its in there for 50-100,000/2-5 years, costs peanuts and its a huge improvement imo.

EDIT: Also think high temp stability is also very good for FS and just doesn't get "beat up" like standard Dexron II/III, so when you are giving it the bejesus and giving it a bit of a scorching it just laughs.

Where as the expense of full synthetic engine oil doesn't add up to me as I change every 5,000k's as its polluted and doesn't really give the "legs" IE service interval of synthetic engine oil a chance to pay off in a VG30DETT imo.

Just don't want to give a blanket synthetic is the way to go opinion out there but definitely in an auto trans imo.

I'm using the Penrite ATF FS too :)
On a freshly installed rebuilt Auto with external cooler. Weekender car though. The way this car is driven, the oil should last for 20yrs. Hahahaha.

Anyone know who supplies a new auto dipstick for the Z32TT?
