auto shift solenoid

    hi I need to find out were the shift solenoid and is it possible to unplug it for a track day for quick shifting any pics or diagram were to find it and what do I need to do

    You want the resistor that is in the drivers-side fender. That is what controls the speed of the shifts.

    and is it as simple as unplug and play? or is there more to it than that.

    will he be able to reach it with wheel and tyre and gaurd on, or is it fender off to reach?

    Unplugging will give you full line pressure which will get you very harsh shifts, especially from 1st to 2nd. Most people have tried different resistors to give an even but sporty feel of the shifts. The common consensus is about 2.4Kohm resistor is your sweet spot, but others have put a switch in to be able to switch between 2.4Kohm and 4.7Kohm for when they want a harsh shift. I'll see if I can find the article that shows you the setup.

    It's actually in the passenger side fender. Drivers side on LHD cars :)

    Also, that resistor is rated at something like 5W. Don't go sticking a little quarter watt resistor in there and expect it to work very long - you know once you let the magic smoke out of electronic components they just don't work any more.
