I competed in the Circuit Battle at Wakefield yesterday. Opposite of earlier this year which was a bit cold and wet as yesterday was high 30's and dry. Had to run DOT street legal semi slicks and power and grip was down due to stinking hot temps. In timed run did a 1 min 7.6. Only did 4 laps to cure new tyres, then two warm up laps and two timed laps and then two cool down laps and that was it then photo's. The semi slicks felt just as good if not better than the old slicks I normally use which cost me nothing or close to. I have often said new semi's would be as good as used slicks I normally use. I missed a gear also and would have done a 1 min 6 for sure with a few laps as hard to put it together in second lap and no practice on the day. I was second fastest as MX5 turbo race car did a 1 min 6 or could have been a 5 actually. My car will be on display at Auto Salon this weekend in Sydney at Circuit Battle display for those attending.
Top effort John, flying the Zed flag in these events pushes the Zed profile. Sorry I couldn't make it this time and be a 'pit bitch'. I wonder how the street rego'd cars went today.
Well kept secret They obviously don't want anybody to know about it or attend the event. Only had about eight cars there, so wasn't much to get excited about. the format of one car on the track at a time doing one warm up lap, one timed lap, and one cool down lap, leaves a lot to be desired. Think i will give the next one a big miss.
Damn it I would have gone if I knew about it got the brakes all sorted now all linished again pads too and bedded in properly this time Wiz. Always PM me with details of all or any track days, practice days, private sessions basically any track time available and I am there.
