Hi Guys...this is a follow up thread from a few weeks ago...I bought an ecu on ebay supposed to be from a 1992 na auto....I connected it up to my Jspec na auto, but the motor turned over but wouldn start,so in went the jspec and away it went.My question is how do u tell just by looking at these ecu,s what they actually are?this one has a big 35 printed on it and A18-000 m76 0301 as well...there is also english writing near the adjust screw.Maybe its stuffed or just wont work in my car....

Looking at the parts fiche, there seems to be about 12 different NA/AT ECU's.
Looks like they changed every couple of months.

    Another 10 for NA/Manual

    TT's 6 AT and 5 MT

Anybody know what the diferences are ?

  5. 8bit / 16bit and different programs are the main differences

In general the older 8bit NA AT ECU models (from '89 up to mid '92 or so) work in almost all NA models (MT or AT's)
It may throw up an errorcode, but the engine should run fine and you should be able to drive the car without problems.

the first part of the partnumber can help you find out:
eg. 40Pxx, the 40 tells it's an 8-bit NA model. if the is number is 46 or higher then it's a 16 bit model
