actually you did everything right. my server currently has an issue sending mail to some relays.. tpg being one of them.. ie you would nerver get your activation email.. i deleted your accounts and turned off email verification so you could get in.
I have always loved vBulletin fourms for some reason.. I didnt mind the layout of aus300zx tho that was pretty good. I like to see just a Heap of Theads and you click to open it up and has every single post after it. This is another car site that uses vBulletin! http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/index.php Got custom banner etc so every time you refresh the page the image will change to a random picture of another car. Alot of hard work has gone into keep the site a float.. They had an issue not long ago as the site would hang heaps it was due to the fact that site was getting bigger plus its full of young stupid tools and alot of the older members like myself do not go on as much. But yeah it would hang etc was a very simple fix of just upgrading the ram hehe. Nath
Yep i have been to that site a couple of times.. I goto overclockers.com.au which had already been posted before somewhere else...
Benny_C's AU$0.02 worth..... I've spent a fair bit of time now having a click through all 3 demo sites. I realise this brief time we have to play around and share our thoughts won't give us the chance to cover all aspects of the forum capabilities - but this vBulletin style just seems to be the most "user friendly" sample here. Apart from that, there are the cosmetic advantages also - and by that i mean very clean and simple layout with what seems to be a higher quality graphic factor than especially phpBB setup (it just seems to be blocky or low-res) Anyway, I think with a combination of feedback from members and some fine-tuning, this vBulletin software will really come out on top. This definately has my vote. Just my AU$0.02 worth.
I too am all for vBulletin. I'm probably biased being so used to OCAU (which also uses this format) and if I didn't remind myself I actually would have posted thinking I'm on OCAU now Post some zed pics to limit my confusion haha Is it just me or does it feel like this 'IS' the new forum. It just feels right...
if size is a factor, the austech stats are more that we could ever need .. 1342 members online at same time/just under 1million posts/49,000members .. if vb can handle that, it should have no trouble with "aus" baz.
Candu's AU$0.02 worth..... I'm liking this vBulletin more and more. I particularly like the way you can go from one post to the next just by clicking the up or down arrows. And It has the ability to show threaded view which gets a big thumbs up from me. I'm sure with a bit of extra tweaking it could look very personalised and would very quickly be adopted by all users. I think it might also be possible to have a random pic of members cars in the header every time you open your browser. I vote YES YES YESzlove
Re: Candu's AU$0.02 worth..... I also like the dotted lines that connect posts so that you can see which post is being replied to.
A year ago I started a Vbulletin concept for the Aus300zx site. http://venus.trio-trading.com.au/forums/?styleid=12 I played around alot with user questions and found vb to be very suitable and flexable. vs phpBB. You can configure the members list to look like the 'old' site http://venus.trio-trading.com.au/forums/memberlist.php? zlove
this be da one... this one has my vote!!! agree with wykked, would be nice if when you click "next post" it wouldnt jump back to the top. makin me freak out... cheers, Will *edit - my animated gif doesn't work on my avatar
excuse my n00b'ness... but are you talking about the arrow next to the "next" ?? coz it still takes me back to the top of the page...????
If you are on the bottom post and click next it will take you to the top, other wise it works fine from my experience
