Firstly...water temp. What is the normal "warm" water temp on a stock as a rock TT. What is the normal warn temp on a zed with all the cooling done? And what should it be at I'd going hard or boosting a lot? What temp will it overheat roughly? Next one is the luminosity of the needles on the cluster. Some of mine are bright some are dull. What's the cause and what's the fix? Cheers, Matt
Huh, I thought they were a bit higher than that, coolant should be good till ~120 or something. Does the head go before that? To explain the first two a little more though the car has thermostats and the clutched fan which are designed to keep your car up to a good operating temperature (good oil viscosity and block temp. for combustion) but not hot enough to damage engine components. High end cooling gear isn't specifically to make the car run cooler but to give it a better ability to control its temperature, if you think your car overheats then diagnostics on the fan, radiator and thermostat conditions is a good staring point
Oem cooling components should keep the car around 80c which is the operating temperature. I've seen mine reach 85c on a hot day in traffic with the aircon on but never higher and I have all new oem cooling components water pump, thermostat, radiator, hoses ect and IMO if its around 95/100 you're over heating. 120degc isn't overheating its rooted just because the coolant may be good up till then doesn't mean your zed should be reaching 120. It doesn't need better ability it just needs to be in good condition.
Well mine sits at 73ish and if I go hard it gets to about 78. So that's good. I still wanna know about my cluster needles lol.
Yeah T10's...can get a whole set for the cluster on ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ZPE-Blue...=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item415e09e111 Cheap as and a piss easy job....makes the dash look a million times better at night...can get them in many differnt colours too.
The OEM thermostat opens at 76.5 Deg C. So normal operating temps if everything is 100% with your cooling system would be 80-81 degs C. Obviously other things not relative to coolant system condition come in to play like ambient temps, incline, engine load vs vehicle speed, A/Cond and heater operation, tyre size/type and wheel alignment. Certainly on days like today with ambient temps in the mid 20's cruising around 81 degs is about right. Your coolant temperature at 73 probably means you have a nismo thermostat installed, or it's otherwise faulty.
I'd say a nismo then. The engine had a full build with lots if extra goodies! About the needles. I just didn't want to pull my dash to find out lol. Cheers, Matt
