Dont make the mistake of installing an electric fan to your radiator without proper fan shrouding - without the shroud, you are only effectively using ~52% of your radiator's cooling core and this will lead to overheating issues when running the powerplant at higher duty for any length of time. We have custom designed a fiberglass shroud for use with the Koyo radiator and either a 16" 3000CFM or 4000CFM electric fan. This shroud fits the radiator entanks and core face like a glove to maximize airflow through the entire core and provide the greatest cooling effectiveness of your Koyo radiator. The 4000CFM fan option is reserved for those with front-mount intercooler setups and is not required if you do not have one of these intercooler setups.

Kit comes complete with the following items:
    AshSPEC Fiberglass Shroud
    16" 3000CFM/4000CFM Electric Fan
    30A relay harness
    Hardware fasteners
    Installation instructions

The shrouds are available in the following gelcoat colors (gloss finish):
Black, Red, Silver, Light Blue, Dark Blue, Yellow

    Groupbuy Price:
    3000CFM Setup: $265 USA
    4000CFM Setup: $325 USA

An optional adjustable thermatic controller is available for an additional $45. This device has a user-adjustable temperature POT and employs a probe installed into the core face to control when the fan is turned on.

Shrouds sold seperately with mounting hardware for $99.

**** NOTE: This shroud will not properly fit the Howe or stock radiators. A fan shroud kit for the Howe and stock radiators are currently being produced and should be available within the next few weeks. ****

    what brand is the fan?

i didn't know that there were 4000cfm thermofans available

and i've heard that a specific manufacturer exaggerates their cfm figures

and can you please show pics of the thermo-switch probe that is installed into the core-face

PS: i have a koyo and i'm genuinely interested - thanks

    Info below

From Ash of Ash Spec performance

"The fan is a Zirgo fan, ZFU16, shown here:

    Zirgo Fan

No picture available of the temperature probe installed. This device
inserts into the face of the radiator at the inlet side, top, at the inner
    corner of the radiator face.

FWIW, my car has a 1700CFM Revcor fan in it and I had no overheating issues
with it at the track, running full 10-minute roadcourse track sessions.
That fan pulls 11Amps - the 3000CFM fan pulls 15Amps and the 4000CFM fan
    pulls 20A.

    hehe

tell ash that the best way to prove a thermofan isn't flying around a race track at 100+mph with air being forced quickly through your radiator and with a 20C ambient air temp because he lives in seattle or something, but sitting in australian summer heat (read mexico/texas) with 40C+ temps in a traffic jam with no wind at all

    - your engine is running and so is your air con and the only thing moving the air through your radiator and fmic is the thermofan

i'm not an expert by all means, but that's just intuitive ;)

edit: but i'm interested in the 4000cfm unit with the thermo-switch probe
