Im trying to fit my new 2nd hand bonnet i bought from cresta and it WONT FIT! :angry: I dont know what model it was that i took it off but my car has a sway bar and it touched my old bonnet but it still closed, so ive cut off the heat proof stuff off the new bonnet and it still wont close. ive even put 4 washers under where the bonnet bolts onto the chassy and it still wont close. WTF. Ideas?? Matt.
I think you mean "strut bar"......>> Since a sway bar is under the engine. Does the bonnet fit if the bar is removed?
Yea sorry strut bar. Its aluminium I havnt tried to fit it without the strut bar yet. I guess it will help to find out if thats the problem or not, But when you press down to click the bonnet in you can see it bend in the middle of the bonnet where the strut bar is touching. I put my old bonnet on again to double check and yep, the old one fits, but its very tight. it touches the strut bar but still closes, so i might have to cut a peice out of the supports on the underside of the bonnet. :wacko: Matt.
