    Hi Everyone,

When i start the engine cold, it will rev to about 1350rpm and hold for about 20 seconds and then settle done gradually to about 850rpm as is suppose too. i encounter a problem however, when i push the clutch in, it will automatically increase my rpm way up to approximately 1300? My rpm is also sticky when im gearing down - to the extent where it will hold at a500 or so for a period of 3 seconds then dramatically fall. I have placed a replaced the TPS thinking this would be the cause, but have taken the car to nissan and they beleive it to be a air leak in the right hand throttle body @ $700! Anyone, have any ideas?

    Regards, Charlie

Charles, sounds like either IACV, Air regulator or vacuum leak

Give me a call on 0402 279373 or email.

Please don't spend $700 on a possibly simple solution without getting a second opinion!

Pretty sure the manuals have an ecu function which

raises the revs when changing gears, to make the gear change smoother. You might not actually have anything wrong with your car.

    some do some dont...

my J-spec ecu does, but my aus-spec ecu does not (yes I am a nut, I have two ecus..:)). Also, this does not seem to be a J-spec / Aus-spec thing as I have seen a few J-spec zeds which dont seem to have this feature.

    Cheers

    mine does the same thing

yeah and nothing wrong with mine. i got told the ecu makes it do this. my car runs perfectly and its an n/a too but i don't think their are any leaks :D i wouldn't worry about it unless you know there is definately something wrong

Yeah i have wondered if it IS a problem?

O have wondered many-a-times if there actually is a poblem there, but im convinced there is. The reason i know is because i park in a carpark full of speedbumps and when i start the car cold, approach the speedbump and push in the clutch the revs go flying up to like 1350 as i go over the bump...

Im over it... its winding me up. Its such an annoying problem.
