have two lh side mirrors and are pulling them apart to get one good one. have found 2 completely different electric systems in them. need help gus
think i got it i think the difference in the two mirrors is that one electrically folds in and theother doesn't. does this sound like anything anyone has come across?
Aus-Spec NA's did not get the fold-back mirrors(electric adjustment only) As ALL TT's are J-spec imports, they should have fold-back as well as electric adjustment.
Yep, Jap ones fold in as well as having the electronic adjustment, Aus ones adjust electronically but don't fold in, and some (most?) US and European ones have heated mirrors but I don't know if the heated mirror version can also have the fold in option. As far as I know, all mirror exterior bodies are interchangeable (the plastic shell only, not the alloy base), as are the mirrors, except that the US ones have a convex one on the rhs so it wouldn't be legal in Australia.
cheers guys... ive replaced my internals of the lh side mirror with aus spec electrics so now only one of my mirrors will fold in. but thats better than only having one mirror on my car currently. cheers gus
