No, but the designers had certainly seen a Fiat

There used to be a couple of Metallic Bronze ones in Sydney.....

20 years ago. They were very well built, with a good body finish, and a very plush interior(for that time). Datsun 1600's were pretty good performers in those days, and were used in a lot of rallies and club events.

I reckon they should be very collectable $7000 seems cheap

This car is not based on the 1600 sedan which the rally cars were, and does not have the familiar Prince-sourced L16 SOHC four used in the 1600 sedan. It's a rebodied 1600 roadster - the MGB-like sports that was first called Fairlady. So it's really a "Fairlady coupe" even though it's badged as a Silvia and maybe should be considered as a true Z ancestor as well as a Silvia ancestor. The body was styled by an Italian who did Fiats and Lancias, so the resemblance is not surprising. When you consider that the 1600 roadster, which is reasonably common, sells for upwards of $10000 in good condition, then $7000 for this rare car seems OK to me....

    And was copied....

.. while there are FIAT & Lancia styling cues in the Silvia, understandably due to the designer! If you see one in the flesh you will realise that Toyota folks took a hard look at it when designing the original Celica.

Nearly bought one about 20years ago to go with my 1600 "Fairlady" (Likely one of the Bronze ones Chili mentioned)
