anyone seen a good 2-tone job on a z? (blacktop)

those are some ****ing ugly zeds you've got there nemz!

 

UK Top Gear Z

Dont have a pic but remember that U.K. Z that was on top gear for the rocket scientist burnout competition, apparently that Z was voted best drift or burnout car (so they said), I've seen the paint job done quite a few times now. Its a two tone paint job simply done in a darker blue and red, the colours have a wide colour spectrum and so it gives the effect of an oil slick look to it, with purple/pink hues. Best paint I've seen on a Z, must've paid some $$$$ for that paint, they use a black base, I painted my motorbike in it after I saw it - its that good.

Impressive mix of colours in pink/ red from the front and then to purple/ blue from behind when it passes and shimmers of colour in the centre.

Also surprisingly to me, candy two-tone bright yellow and bright green looks pretty hot, the contrast yellow to green is extremely vivid and stands right out (head turning colour). I saw a porsche done really nice once in it - Z's are similiar in shape so I'm sure it would look great

I've done a lot of painting Z's in game's like NFS SHIFT 2 etc and both those colours stand right out as well, in the games

Im assuming you're talking about this 300zx?



Thats not two tone, its a special paint called harlequin if you get the PPG branded stuff. Think its called chameleon paint as well..

i think maybe dark coloured zeds look better just leaving the triangle as is. but with a light coloured zed it stands out a lot more.

like that dark blue one you put up nemz looks aiight. but its not very clean theres a lot of stickers n shiz distracting from the angle.


anyone a whiz at photoshop? wanna photoshop a morrone zed like mine to have a standard black top? wonder if mine is dark enough.

bits on my car that now need painting are the bonnet, the boot, and both thin targa sections. so if it looks any good then i might as well do it black

actually i quite like that with just the top and hatch. seems to look a bit more stock then the bonnet and nose panel too.

haha =] I got black vented bonnet and nose panel on mine, and going to black top it soon, as i need to respray the hatch after removing my leaking bomex wing.

ill do the bonnet for you now too
