I tend to agree, they look dopey. But being OEM HIDs, apparently they're extremely good, while the standard Z lights really aren't. So I have to respect them a bit ;)

Well, the '94 doesn't have manual air con either, so what the hell is it? :p

I had a phone conversation with these guys whom pretty much spilt the beans about what happened. They had a 2000 spec model (assuming they imported it) with the intention for resale. Lined up a buyer, deposits made. They then tried to comply and register it, upon finding out it wasn't possible due to air bags and all the normal ruling. So they got stung with a car they couldn't move. So they gave the buyers deposit back and went and found a straight, cheap 2+2 (1994 regod) that they could swap all the 2k parts over into the 94 zed, then register and resell.

Bit much on the asking price. But obviously trying to recoup some financials from the ordeal.

Nah, Jono bought that one. Was a slicktop and confirmed to be a 2K model.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

More likely they simply rebirthed it... how many work hours do you think would be involved in swapping the parts over?

Yeah I did think this also.

Food for thought, they said the old 2k shelll and na running gear is still at the shop... Might be worth someone eyeballing them should someone be bored enough to persue this oddball.

The TT (89) in my garage has plastic clips holding it down, but the 2 na's (92, 93) both have black rivets holding them in. That said, black rivets probably wouldn't be too hard to source.

Edit: anyone notice the radiator bracket is bolted in the TT's location, as opposed to an NA which is further over to the right.

    It appears so

My '90 has a plastic tab and screw holding the VIN plate in place haha

Looks exactly the same, right down to the pinstriping. Somebody should go have a look and compare the vin on the plate to the one on the firewall just to be sure.

Easier to swap tags and register with new engine

The big difference I see is that the bonnet lines up!

I have a 7/95 aus spec. It has plain silver rivets on all the tags. By the way, is the VIN you quoted in your previous post a 25th Anniversary?
