Checking over the lemon this evening, and looking at the fuse box on the passenger side of the engine bay, I noticed that the holder marked "ABS" on the cover was quite empty of any fuse - does this indicate anything to any of you gurus ?

Am I going to risk anything putting a fuse in here ?, Ie is there some arcane [or mundane] reason why this should be missing ?

Is there some diagnostic I can run, or some simple visual check I can do before shoving a fuse in there ?The thing at least starts up now I have shoved a battery into it

    Cheers

Well put it this way, if you put back the fuse and nothing happens

you might come to the conclusion that they (someone in the past) needed a fuse ASAP and ABS isn't a totally 100% needed component.

If it blows then you can safely assume there is a problem with the ABS only. Use a new fuse, don't sacrifice one of your existing ones.

This is pretty rudimentary stuff, take a logical approach and you will get there eventually. If you look at all things in logical order you will make progress.

Give the Zed a chance, she will show you character yet!
