    hey guys and girls,

i just done a engine pull due to a blown turbo, it has now been rebuilt all gaskets replaced. the problem i have is you all guessed it, it wont start it is firing on all 3 cyl on passange side but does not seem to want to fire on the drivers side i have checked connectors and came up my CAS sensor was not working and and ignition signal surcuit which from what it says seems to be the CAS i then checked it again 5 mins later and it said all fine error code 55, could it possibly be the PTU as it has a series 1.

    cheers pauly

YES - it most certainly can.

You should get rid of the S1 PTU asap regardless

Many of us here at the forum have experienced all sorts of problems with them - even different codes being issued as a result of a S1 PTU

Stop until you can replace it - otherwise you could end up pulling your hair out after replacing everything but the kitchen sink

ok i got the error code to leave it had dirty pins on ptu, it now kicks on the left bank but does not on the right, i have checked the car with a working ptu and still no luck same thing, i changed out the CAS and still the same, right bank has spark left bank has spark. after checking spark i then checked fuel left bank plugs a little bit wet right bank dry as a bone, so i put a bit of fuel down the right side of the plenum and both sides started kicking over. the question now is what can cause all 3 injectors not to work on the drivers side take in mind i have brand new connectors on them.

Didn't someone else on here have 3 bad injectors all on the same side once before not too long ago?

It's unlikely but it has happened from memory...tried swapping out the injectors from left to right?

to do that wont i need to pull the plenum

Get a known working injector, plug it in and see if it fires?
Check voltage to make sure the injectors are actually receiving power.

Weird - sounds like the fuel rail is blocked with something - is the hose piece halfway kinked?

3 injectors at once is rare

im not too sure it is definatly related to the drivers side injectors as i put fuel in that side of the plenum and presto it ran like a work horse didnt miss or anything that was until the fuel ran out, atleast now it runs on 3 cyl instead of not at all. injector when tested had voltage going to it 8v and i suspected a blocked fuel rail also but i hit it with compressed air and nothing is the fuel rail fed by just 1 hose and returned the other as the return is working fine. if it was a blockage what could budge it.

I had this same problem early last year. To put a long story short, ended up being a failed ECU. See if you can find someone who is willing to place your ECU in their Z and see if the problem is replicated in theirs.

    hey all,

i got the old girl to fire up it turns out there was a light film on the injectors that was causing no connection, after i cleaned the injectors with CLR they worked first turn of the key it now fires on all.

moral of the storey if you clean your wiring plugs make sure you clean them properly a little bit of CLR goes along way.

thanks for all your help guys
    cheers pauly:D
