Just wanted to know if anyone uses the Amsoil oil filters at all??

Got some amsoil oil and oil filter today and most likey going to do an oil change on the weekend and use the amsoil oil filter... Got the 20w/50 racing oil as my engine has not had a rebuild at all... The oil filter is an Ea015 and got an engine flush as well...

Now from doing a search and reading people say the system takes 4.1 or there abouts but others take on more or less... With the new oil filter it will add a little bit more to the system as it is a bigger oil filter...

yes dude i have exactly what you have purchased, right down even to the flush, (except i used 15w)
the oil filter is larger than the oem, by about 800ml or so, so make sure you spend about 5 min filling it up before attatching it, and then dump about 4ltr into the engine, works fine for me.

but i know i dont need to tell you this.. butttt.. check the dipstick after your done yea? :bash:

    Yep

From memory there are two Amsoil filters that fit, the one which is around OEM size and the oversize 015. I always use the oversize, for the extra oil capacity and filtration surface area. Its definitly worth the extra few bucks, and no problems with clearance.

When I do the oil change its roughtly 4.5 litres, never measured exactly but when its close to full I just pour a little at a time, wait a few minutes for the oil to get down and then check the dip stick. I use 10/40 amsoil.

Also before fitting I always fill the filter first, it takes a lot more oil than you would think, like there is a hole in the bottom.... just when you think its full you can pour a whole lot more in! Also makes it heavy so can be a bit more fiddly to get it on without dropping it :)

The guy at the place in Dandenong said that it will take the full 5L's with the bigger oil filter...

Will fill up the oil filter first see how much it does take then put in say 4L or what ever and go from there...

    His name is Bill :)

Place is called Lubrication Management, a lot of us buy our Amsoil from there

I don't seem to recall ever using a full 5L, however Bill is a zed enthusiast too, so I guess he would know better than most :)
