Ive got a guy coming tomorrow to install my alarm and am wondering what a fair amount to pay is. He charges $88 per hour (eek! i know! but he said it wouldnt work out to be that much) and hes doing the following:

    Installing siren under bonnet.
Putting central locking motor in door (door skin already removed, but hes reinstalling)
    Installing simple alarm system.
Running wires for amp to boot.
Installing power inverter and playstation in glove box.

He quoted around 4 hours (but said it'll possibly take longer... hes worked on a fair few z's tho). Does this sound like a good deal?

hourly rate for a 'pro' is OK- just make sure he hides

the box right up high under the dash so it cant be accessed easily front the vent opening on dash side. (ideally install in the passenger footwell)

If any external relays are used to immobilise circuits, ensure they are located in a different position to the box...

Also get him to make the fuel circuit cut in the white wire (fuel pump earth) leading from the fuel pump control unit behind passenger seat.

Much harder to do but much more effective than the fuel pump relay behind drivers kick panel...

    Wires to boot...

why don't you do this part yourself really easy to feed from engine bay to foot well and hide them under the interior trim. I'm sure the playstation and inverter part wouldn't be difficult either then you only have the cost of the alarm which shouldn't take any longer than two hours i would say.

    Re: Wires to boot...

He said that everything except the alarm will only take 30 mins or so. The alarm and esp the central locking motor take the majority of the time.

The reason i want him to do it is my car is missing lots of trim screws etc which he will supply if he is required to remove and replace the trim piece. So for $40 or so i thought it was worthwhile him doing it.
