    Hi,

Just wondering where everyone puts the AIT sensor? Straight after intercooler? I'm thinking keeping it out of engine bay to prevent the heat effecting it?

    Thoughts from those running them?

im just going to off logic for a second .. wouldn't you want it in a position to give you as close to accurate temperature of air entering the engine as possible ? so near throttle body ?

I might be way off here, if so ignore this. Just a thought.

Nitrous is there and will freeze it. Could put it just before but wondering about engine bay effecting the sensor?

I think you are right though. I just remember Mungyz saying something about it.

Better yet, ask your tuner. The 'correct' place is subjective but the best place is where the person doing the tuning is used to

I tune myself... Currently arguing with myself

So you don't use direct port nitrous injection

Nah just two foggers before throttle body.

I try to run my sensor a few inches before the throttle body to capture the exact temps entering the engine. If you have nos ports there I would run your sensor after the intercooler but close to it. Temp change between this point and a few inches before the throttle body will be marginal.

Kudos also for street tuning, it's how I roll also. More satisfying I think (providing you don't kill them).

i have one after the pod and one in the manifold. I don't believe the one in the manifold is impacted by engine temps but to be fair it hasn't see track work yet.

The one in the pod is not usually far off the ambient temp as a rough guide so If you only have one sensor I would place it after the intercoolers, the one before is only giving you an indication of how much heat you are introducing into the air; this floats my boat though:D
