My air con have never worked probably since the day I bought my Z. Today I wanted to see if I could find out what is wrong with it.
I did the self diagnosis from a service manual and ended up with these result:

    Set 00, Amb 30
    Set 01, Amb 42
    02, -62
    03, 45
    04, 43
    05, -62
    06, 48
    07, 80
    08, 0
Some of those figures look very weird, when I look at the range it suppose to be in between.

I went out to the fuse box and realised that the 10 amp fuse has been changed to a 75 amp, and the block there suppose to sit in the Air Con connectors are missing.

To get another one of them, would that solve my problem??

Everything seems to work alright. When I press AUTO and decrease the temp the rpm is going up a bit (Beleive the car do that to generate more power to pull the air con? ) The only thing is, that it doesn't make the air cold. Is that because of my missing block in the fusebox, or is it something else.

How or where do I check that. Heard it is quite expensive to get it regassed.

You can check the gas through the little viewing hole type thing near your battery (sorry don't have a pic). You'll see a the gas lines and then theres like a T joint and off that joint is a pipe with a glass piece on top so you can see through it. You should see the gas going past when your AC is on.

But would my air con ever go on if I don't have the Air Con block in the fusebox?

Thanks guys.. I will check if there is any gas running through tomorrow when it is daylight. Hope I can find it, I have a lot of lose ends and cables near my battery, and I have no idea what they do...
Anyway. What does that block in the fusebox do? I guess it has a function?

I thought I would see if I was right about the missing block in the fusebox in the front right side when you standing in front of the car. So I found out it suppose to be a blue block, so I took one of the headlight block and I could suddenly see gas running through the glass piece. Yay... My Air con works. However I realised it makes a loud tick tick noise. Anybody who knows what that can be?? And also, do any of you guys have a extra blue block in the fusebox I can buy, as I would like to be able to use my aircon in the nighttime. ;)

    Thanks guys

Cresta will have plenty of... or Zed4life. Both in Brissie. :zlove:

Yes, it's true - I cleaned Cresta out of relays

a long time ago... but it's also true that I've been replacing missing relays on other peep's zeds at the same rate. Unfort, have no spares ATM.

ckirkhoff: there is a trick to engaging the A/C without a relay using a wire to bridge the terminals on the A/C relay connector like the below pic. BE WARNED that this will switch the A/C on when key is set to either accessories or ignition constantly despite turning the A/C off in the cabin. and if you use too thick wire, it can cause a fire/ wiring meltdown (disclaimer: use this at your own risk).

PS: The number of low speed aux fan relays missing on TT zeds in qld is staggering, I *believe* that the headlight relays blow much more frequently and instead of replacing with a new relay, they steal the low speed aux fan as a temp (which ends up being permanent) replacement...;)

Time for another Cresta sortie? (will wear my chastity belt for protection of course) :p
