Hi WA owners, Anyone interested in hiring out the AHG road circuit, its $100 per hour and open Monday to Thursday. If anyone out there has hired it before let me know what you thought.
more details please is that the "track" they run those mini V8's on? what does this session involve? more more more
Mini V8's? they are full sized commodore race car's, just 2 on the track instead of 20+ Rules are go out, have fun and don't deliberately drift. Tuning afternoons are $50 and you share the track and skidpan with about 13 other people, it's not crowded and gives te car time to cool down. Great fun and as soon as I have another car to take out I'll be there. Got to borrow a rex last time
I meant mini V8's coz they are NOT the same as a full V8 Supercar (so i've been told) Not as powerful ect ect So it is that track AND the skid pan? Is that right? Sounds good Do you need CAMS or anything?
definately don't need cams, just a road licence. but it's the track and the skidpan for a tuning arvo, I'm not sure what you get for $100/h as proposed by this thread, however I belive it's only $700 to hire the track for the day. A tuning arvo will only use up about 1/4 tank of fuel. And the V8's there are detuned a bit and will only hit about 150/160 down the straight but are still pretty quick
The road circuit is a track that runs around the outside of the land they own, inside that they have to strips which they use for coned driving practise plus they have a skid pan. They do have the tunning sessions at the end of every month or you have hire the road circuit for 100 per hour but they try and limit it to 2 hours per booking so its not taken up by the same people all day. When you hire it you just organise it the way you want to. I'm going to have a go once my car is finished being retuned after my recent plenum pull.
The great thing about the AHG circuit is it's a street circuit, meaning the corners aren't cabered. there is also a mix of corners, unlike Waneroo. I really like the AHG track. I've only got a vid on youtube of when I was learning the skidpan at AHG, and on a hot day running safety boost (EBC bypassed) and 42PSI in the tyres it isn't very impressive. Haven't uploaded the others Two members on here work at or for AHG, I won't name them but maybe they might be able to get us a discount?
i know one of them Hope he's working the day we go so I can get some "stig style" help and instruction
Who are the two members that work there? I can only think of one! Btw; every corner on the track is different! Track is great fun!
Would love to here from who ever works there and if a discount is a possibility? Also what are the rest of the facilities like?
I didn't realise Terry worked there; might work for DTEC! *shrug* Fat chance on a discount; they are easily filling bookings; the lack of available time and dates is more an issue. If you feel the need you can always request us as instructors. Personally, if its a weekday, give me plenty of notice so I can take the time off my FT work!
