    Hi all,

Im looking for some seats for the zed. Street use but a race style seat...Probably a black suede or mesh fabric...not into leather.

looking for something with a little more bolster support than the standard items.

Just having a look on 'JustJap' and there is a few on there which are less than $500 a pair...which seem cheap...are they cheap for a reason??? experience's anyone???

It would be nice if they are ADR approved seats and rails.

Could people with aftermarket seats please post some pics and info on ones they have chosen etc

    Seats are another category where......

"You get what you pay for"

if you want something that looks okay but that's about all, then buy the cheap knockoffs. If you want quality, support, function and durability then start looking at the brand names which run about $1K a seat (excluding rail).

I had a pair of Bride Brix but I found them highly impractical for street use (you needed a skyhook to haul yourself out of them) so I went back to the oem seats. The Brides now grab Wizard and his son's arses on track days around Wakefield.

You have to decide on your purpose before you decide if you want Taiwanese knockoffs or not.

With the massive amount of "imitations" coming out of China at the moment (at a fraction of the price), you would think the name brands would be going broke but the factories of Bride, HKS, Volk etc are still going flat out.

That must tell you something

Im happy to pay for quality there just isnt that many around that are ADR approved.

Looking at a set of "Velo GP 90" which arent too bad at $650 a seat plus rails. From autosport in Adelaide.

I mean the OEM seats are crap for support really..ive had the car nearly 4 years and have never liked the seats....especially through the hills and the like. My Car will be daily driven soon enough so not wanting something too uncumfortable....

Maybe some EVO or WRX or GTR seats....anyone done this?

Really not wanting to recover them as i want the stealth look of black suede...i dont want any bling im just all about handling/performance.:D

    Cheers

I dont think any seats available here are ADR approved off the bat. You have to buy them get the seat rail kits modify them to suit the seat and the zed and once its all done take it to an automotive engineer for checking and testing etc and if okay they will sign off on it and give you a certificate stating such.

I have the OBX seats from TTz Performance. They are cheap but of reasonable quality. After more than 3 years in our car they are still going strong. All I have had to do is tighten the backs on each after a year and a half because the bolts had come a little loose. The seats are ADR certified, but how you mount them and get then engineered is up to you. I bought genuine Momo double action sliders and custom fabricated brackets that are far superior to the stock items. If I ever have an accident I know I'll be OK.
