As some of you may have read i replaced my AFM late last week with a new one, well the car ran beautifully on the way up to Perth, 550km, and i went to the dyno day on sat, made 188.9rwkw on stock turbo's and stock boost, came back home this morning and for the first 60 or 70km it was drizzling rain, then after that it bucketed down for about half an hour, the car never missed a beat even in the heaviest rain and the rain got very heavy at stages, which was unheard of with the old AFM fitted, with regards to this little story, i am convinced that anyone with an original AFM on their car should replace it anyway, i had all these annoying little problems with occasional missing, sluggish acceleration at times, running like shite in the wet, etc, all which i put down to many and varied other things, now it seems to me that the center of all those things was the AFM, i never even really looked at it till it stopped functioning completely but i think they are one of those " the motor will still run with no fault codes, but there is definitely something wrong " things, just wanted to let everyone know my thoughts on this and if your car has the same kind of faults, definitely look at replacing the AFM cheers
good to hear haha lucky mate, my AFM has called it quits day before dyno day now im in for a new one as well. Where did you end up getting yours from? i dont want to pay a ridiculous price
GJ can i get one mate Mine does the same thing, running slugish on rainy days etc...been doing it for a while- but only on rainy days....i dont think their is a fix for it. Is there??
thats really cheap, $15 less +postage than i got mine for, and ak, nah, i tried everything to fix it, nothing worked, do yourself a favour, as they say, just buy a new one then all those problems will vanish
