Hi all, I just wondering if any has pulled there AC clutch off the compressor, as I looking for a puller and I would like to know what size I need, as its very hard to measure it. I think its a m24 x 1.5 but I am just guessing. Dave
Dave Make should be a ZXAL. Puller 24mm x 1.5 quite a course thread. Compressor is a Nissan product made by one of the own companies according to those in the know. Apparently a bugger of a job.
Trouble is Martin it is just the clutch bearing that needs replacement and is to be done in situ, not on the bench.
even if it is on the bench you still need the correct puller and that why I was asking if any know what size puller you need to have, I did have a fly wheel puller kit but none of them were the correct size the closet one that I had was m24 x 1, but it was the wrong pitch. so I looking at trying to buy the correct toll or make one up but I would like to confirm the size need before I start wasting money. Dave
As a rule, threads and pitch are an engineering standard. There can only be a couple of thread counts in that diameter. Without seeing the compressor I can say, but often, the clutch plates also have 3 holes drilled and tapped on the front plate so you can use a plain 3 bolt plate puller. If not, then you have dramas!!! E
this one has a hole with a thread in the middle that use to pull the clutch off with, the prob is that I can not get in to measure it as the thread stud in the way, I guess that seeing do no one seem to have pulled one before I guess I will that stab at it, I will let you know how I went.
