Hey guys, I know this is the kind of thing that would be perfect to search for on the old site so sorry if it's been covered hundreds of times. Can anyone recommend a good mechanics/tuning place around Melbourne? Anyone have any good or bad experiences anywhere? Also thinking of getting the det sensor replaced fairly soon as I'm really starting to hate running on safety maps/boost.

    Any comments would be appreciated

    Cheers

Contact Nissport on 9580 2660. Spencer is the man. They're located down moorabbin way and in my opinion are one of the best mechanics around. Knowledgeable, honest and excellent value, i'd recommend them highly. However, they don't have a dyno, so you'd have to find someplace else for tuning your car.

Incidentally, this topic HAS been covered not so long ago on this forum, so search may have helped you out a bit ;)

    nissport

Woops sorry, my bad. I just found the thread I think you're referring to.... The Det sensor would probably be best handled by Nissport, I'll definately give them a call. As for dyno tuning.... can anyone make any suggestions? I've heard of Dr Drift in Sunshine, anyone had any experiences there? Need a tune baaaad. Would i be correct in saying it'd be stupid to get it tuned before fixing the code 34?

    Fix the code 34 first.

Have you checked for error codes? have you had a boost leak test done at all?

i would get the dat sensor fix first before you get a tune done.. make sure everything is running well etc.

As for a dyno tune well depends on which area you live in... everyone charges different prices... I goto JPC for all my dyno tuning i am very funny to where i take my car's and have known JPC for years and know there work.

I am abit sus on Dr Drift after what i have been told about there work. But each to there own if you ask me.

    Code 34

Yer I have code 34 (det sensor) :( I intend to do a boost leak check this weekend hopefully. I've also had mixed messages in regards to dr drift :s

Ok then i would suggest getting the dat sensor done ASAP if no by pass it for the time being.. but take it to nissport and get it all done there. From just reading on here they seem to do the job well.. Too far for me to travel to get things done.

When the dat sensor is done get them to do a boost leak test and go from there :)
