Hey guys just a few questions, With the 4ws if i turn the steering wheel full lock would i see the back wheels turn aswell? And my car overheated and i had to do a heater bypass, i did the bypass and noticed the red/purple sensor on the water pipe was busted. Could this of caused my car to overheat? Does repco and them places sell them or do i have to get them from caz or ttzed? Thanks in advanced
Do you have a TT? If so, apparently you are suppose to see movement in the rear wheels at full lock (stationary). Not sure what red/purple sensor you are talking about, but if it is broken, then yes replace it. Purchase one from Caz.
That won't cause you to over heat, but it will cause your car to run in safety mode. Replace it, and reset the ECU.
In the honda preludes like 88 models, it doesnt come in unless going really slow, to help with parking.
I'm not sure what speed it kicks in, however it isn't visible from stationary. There is an article in the tech section for diagnosing hicas, where it will be visible from stationary after following a procedure. There was also a video on youtube once of this...
Yeah I think the ZEDs need it to come in when your going slow to help with parking because the turning circle is crap! where i can do a U-turn in most other cars in turns into a 3 point turn in the Z. But yeah as far as i am aware, 4WS is between like 40-110km/h or something?
Huh...? I said it needs to come in when you are going SLOW (i.e the speed you would park at) to HELP the turning circle like madcow previously mentioned with the honda preludes.
Thats why i couldn't see it! It needs to be moving. Lol and i dont think going 50km/h then looking in the mirrors while i turn is the safest!!
it is not the same as honda's people, i have posted this about 15 times, 20 - 70 MPH PEOPLE so not when parking, and not cornering at 180 kays as someone else had blamed it for. I didnt check that you tube video's but one of the popular ones is actually a late model with the electric hicas, has different operating paramaters, the info i ahve given is for the hydralic hicas which most of us have
The only way HICAS will turn the rear wheels whilst not moving is if HICAS is in Diagnostic mode, otherwise it's purely at moderate speeds.
