That looks nearly identical.... ...to a Z I saw for sale a few years ago for about $20k through J-spec imports. (think it was jspec my memory is bad) Mod list looks familiar.
it is the same one egg. vincent took the risk and bought it, good ole 15 year old rule and it didn't need to be returned to stock for compliancing. turned out to be legit too with all the mods as promised. if only i had $20k back then...
It may well be the same one. No big deal or mystery. Regardless of what I bought it for and subsequently spent on it, I can ask a $1million or $5 if I decide to sell it. But if all I'm offered is 5c, well, that's all I'm offered. The ball is in my court from then onwards. CheerZ Vincent
Maybe. But I'm not too keen to take it to the limit. Saying I got 650rwhp or 200rwhp and then hearing *bang*... well, the joy will immediately be forgotten and the wallet will have a new a$$hole ripped in it real damn fast! Not something I'm willing to risk for just bragging rights. However, I'm guessing by the tone of some posts that this thread is going somewhere else... CheerZ Vincent
Nar been there done that so to speak, not me personally but it came up last time this was discussed. Curious to see how it would actually respond though, wonder if those big turbos would spool etc? If you get a decent dyno operator on the job you don't need to worry about pop goes the motor.
Nah, not yet. Still sittin' pretty wrapped in flannel... and sleeping a in box. Will go with the car IF I ever deicide to sell. CheerZ Vincent
have read this thread with some interest... and will admit, some disgust. True, a car is only worth what someone is prepared to pay for it, but it is also worth what someone is prepared to sell it for, mostly based on the situation of the seller. So many cars have appeared on here in the "vehicles for sale" section where a good quality vehicle, having blown motor, transmission etc, has sold for well below what you would expect it to be worth. The couple of thousand $$$ required to get it worth easily twice the asking price seems just out of reach of the owner, so they cut their losses and part with it for whatever they can get. This should not mean that we should criticise a person who appears to have done nothing more than putting out the feelers for any expressed interest. This forum seems to quickly unite to help the unfortunate zedder in need, but it just as quickly passes criticism of the same person the following day. From all appearances, there is no dire rush to sell the car, so why part with it for any less than a price Vincent feels it is worth? Someone who is truly interested in the car for that price would seek further justification for such, and from the readings above, will be more than satisfied that they are getting their moneys worth. Personally, my 300 is far from a fine example of the model, so if any1 tells me that it is a "piece of shit", I will agree with them, but how would many of the proud owners of these cars feel if they were told the same about their pride and joys? It is most of your cars on here that has given me the motivation to spend the thousands required to START to bring my vehicle up to standard, without any consideration of what the car may be worth when finished. To me, the car is both priceless and ageless, and this forum has been a foundation for parts, information and advice. Somehow gone off track. Vincent, I hope you do sell your 300 for $50G. Maybe it will start to increase the value of other 300's out there, and maybe give other owners wishing to sell the confidence to ask a price that better reflects the time, money and effort they have invested into their cars.
I didn;t realise this was such a sensitive post? I think I was most interested that someone was seriously asking 50g for a zed, something I'd not seen before, I guess I just missed the previous threads. Good luck Vincent
Nice engine specs, but just quickly, apexi RX6 turbos are rated 400-500 hp each. Not 1100. https://www.raceinspired.com/pc-671...it-mitsubishi-lancer-evolution-8-2004-up.aspx
Correct. That was corrected in subsequent posts on the... original thread from which the above specs were cut&paste. It should have read 1100hp (both). Other stuff was also corrected, changed, etc. CheerZ Vincent
stick to your guns vincent!! your z is one of the best in the country if not THE BEST !! its worth at least 45k no worries. i would never sell mine, if i did tho it would be going for around 35 to a proper enthusiast!
So it's an unproven setup you're not even confident in testing out? I'm scared now! lol There's lots of cars that can make X power in theory, doesn't really mean a whole lot though does it? I'm just shit stirring, but potential buyers are going to think the exact same thing I suspect especially if they're about to drop 50 large on a Z.
