Well everyone knows what a short shift/quick shift does

Heres a bit of info:
These short shifters are CNC machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum which are designed to give you shorter shift throws and quicker response. Our shift kits are CNC machined to aircraft industry tolerances for a direct bolt in installation. With less distance between throws, you can shift faster and more accurately on the track and on the street. Shortens the shift throw by 30-40%. Installation is very straight forward and can be in your car within an hour. It's smooth and positive feel can be attributed to the polished hemispherical bearing that we have incorporated into the design.


This is a COMPLETE install kit.. ready to be bolted up to your zed.

So i found out my plenum will not be polished so now have decided to just buy everything else that i can im in - email sent

 

hmm i might be in on this one... i dont own a zed yet, but might soon.

 

is this a good quality unit?

where does it come from? ebay?

what were the precautions/concerns that were related to these items on the old forum?

I think it had to do with being bad for the synchros as you tend to shift quicker but I reckon it's bollox.. I'd be shifting at the same, only with less movement.

Apparently you can mod the stockie as well but if these are better for some reason (other than having a nice shiny shaft) :) I'll be in it.

 

Yes they are bad for the synchros.... when you stuff up the shift and crunch the crap out of the box LOL

 

Yeah it actually is a good quality unit. Bigbaz will give you a second opinion tomorrow.

I sent payment saturday 10th. Do you think you could put up a list of people of payments received?

 

I installed one of these short shifters last weekend. And it feels great! No more sloppy stick and its a nice notchy feel when changing gears. The only issue I had was the bushings either I didnt under stand how they worked or what but they didnt fit properly. The bolt which goes through the bush is a fair bit smaller so using the bushing I got with it would have made it sloppy as hell. So I reused the old bush but put some heat shrink on it to give it some new meat.

Yeah we used the old ones aswell.

 

with regards to the bushings

will we be supplied with bushings that are the correct size?

 

We will be supplied with the bushings that come with the kit. It wont make a difference if you use the old bushings.
You'll see what I mean when you install it.
