Has anyone had this problem? I installed my 300kph speedo from the group buy and have found that the needle just takes too long to get to the speed that you are actually doing. e.g. Accelerate up to 60kph (which i noted as being 2000rpm in 4th gear) So i'm sitting at 2000rpm in 4th and the needle is still only coming up past 40kph, then past 50 and finally settles on 60kph. Why is it so slow to react? It must be calibrated right because technically it does eventually show 60kph @ 2000rpm in 4th... It just takes all bloody day to get there Ive checked and the needle isnt sticking so any ideas what it could be?
No worries, done a search.... and I found your post aswell but it didn't say what the problem was in the end?? Did you manage to free it up or did you need a new speedo?
Done nothing @ this stage. Too busy with other things. I will try to pull the shaft out a little and see if this works. I think I pushed the shaft in too far. If not, I will fork out for another one and get a forum member to do the mod as I don't feel confident that I can do this without causing damage. But for now I can live with it. When you tried to pull off the needle, did the shaft also come out with it? That's what happened to me. Now I'm wondering if you did the same. Peter
I've put it the 300kph speedo with no worries... the shaft dosn't come out with the needle...and I don't have any lag with the needle...nice and quike and good accuracy to...but then again i calibrated it
No the pin didn't come out with the needle I've had these off before without any hassles Something must be wrong though. I'll have to pull it apart again. Just too slack at the moment. At least I know now its not normal:LOL:
Just installed the 300km Speedo A electrician installed the 300km speedo a friend that is. AT first when you start the car to go it still remains 0 until about 20km before it kicks in, it eventually calabrilates at the desired speed, if you drive it normal it reads ok, if you decide to put the foot down yes it does lag a bit but does get to the desired speed, you have to remember its a cheap after market item, the resistor is probably not made to keep up when you hit the foot to the gas hard, if you drive it normal, its ok. Remember to get a new one of these costs $800. It does the job and looks pretty good.
yep ..!!! we know the speed of light ..so what is the speed of dark ??:LOL::thumbsup::wacko::wacko:
Speedo 300km In my Z car I have a speedo linked to the booster and a GPS nav with a speedo, the Speedo from the Nav is as accurate you can get, overall the more you drive it the more it calabirates itself and it eventually does the job.
Not really...depends on what time interval the GPS uses to calculate...> some record readings at different intervals. Cheaper ones can take reading every 15sec's or so, good ones the intervals real low. Your speedo should be instant.
