    probably a silly question but could a 5sp man 300zx break 300kph with 300rwkw
or is more a matter of gear ratio's?

Won't hit 300kph with the standard 5 speed gear ratio's. TT auto will though.

I thought it was alot more to do with gear ratioes than power

    300 kph is about 7400rpm in 5th in a 5 speed TT.

I dunno where you'd do it........

You may not get to 300kph in an auto because of torque converter slippage?

    well atm my project plan is;
    300kph
    300rwkw
    300zx
so i may have to suss out some different gears

Yeah, driveshaft vibrations that are a slightl niggle at a hundred are downright intrusive at 200! Can't see out of the rearvision mirror as it appears to hit it's natural frequency :p

If you've got a built and balanced engine you can rev high enough to get there.

well ive hit 6500rpm in 5th before having to back off due to traffic up ahead.. felt like it could have gone to 7200 quite easily, wasnt slow either.. moving quite steadily

Thought I remembered an article of the first bits of tuning played with was removing the speed limiter and on a testing ground, a stock TTZ hit very close to 300KPH.

i hit 190 a while ago in a small race (i wont say where) with an older model supra and a blue rx8, car felt fine to me, may have been the fact that my brain was pumping so much dopamine into me that things felt slower but at that point all i wanted was to go faster

From memory it was 268kph. Wheels magazine did it here in Australia using a stock TT manual.

    Diff: 3.692
    5th Gear: 0.752
    Using 245/45/16

    185 mph = 297.7 kmh @ 7k rpm
    190 mph = 305.5 kmh @ 7.2k rpm

    It'll get there.
