03 skyline haha yeah you can import them, checkout prestige motorsport for more info... WHY you would want one is a whole over issue, for that kind of money you could grab a rx7 series 6 or something local with serious go rather than the new camry... oh whoops i mean skyline... hint hint what about ZEDSLED that is serious zed 4 bugger all money
Jeez come on guys, be a bit more realistic! These Skyline 350GT's are not a bad car. They are effectively the current day equivalent of a Z32 2+2. Firstly - if you can find an '03 350GT in exc cond for $25K, BUY IT! The guy in the ebay ad might be starting off high, but he's not that far off the mark. Check out this 2003 Skyline 350GT in Prestige's site and note the price - $39300 + tyres. Secondly, comparing a 206kw 3.5 litre 6 speed like this to a Camry is just plain wrong - they are chalk and cheese. For $25K you might be able to get an auto 3 litre 4 door version with a few more k's and less accessories - and there is reason to compare that with a Camry. The styling on these 350GT's might not be everyone's cup of tea, and it certainly doesn't appeal to me as much as the Z32 - but if I had $40K to throw at a second car to use as a d/d, it would certainly be on my list for a test drive at least.
Yeah I gotta agree with Mike on this one.. I'm getting a little sick of everyone bagging virtually every car that is ever compared with the Z32. I admit the Zed is a classic car that has earnt its place in history as a true sports car with the aesthetics to match. But Nissan has moved on after something like 10 years of production. Just because theres no zed badge, doesn't make it an unworthy car to own. Rant over..
I think zed owners sometimes wear rose colored glasses.... The zed is a great car (i love it:zlove::zlove, but there are heaps of other nice cars on the road besides the zed... But I have to admit, the Z32 still is one of the better looking..
They are basically a 350Z same engine (there are 2.5 and 3.0L variants), based on the 350Z chassis, very similar in terms of level of comfort, and similar price. The interesting one in the bunch is the sedan GT-8, with 8 speed paddle shifted continuously variable transmission. That's not a bad price for a 350GT with Brembos, you can get them cheaper and the Premium has some nice extra features, we've got some in the high 30's in the past. Go here and search on "350" for some available now http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/ and tons more here (3.5L coupes): http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/auction.php?chassis=CPV35 and 3.5L sedans: http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/auction.php?chassis=PV35 Ben
I know a few guys that have these lines already... some of the guys on the skylines forum already have them, I've seen a fair few floating around the north shore as well... there was one sitting in a Peugeot dealership for about 2 weeks (on pac hwy just past St Leonards). I think Nissan should ditch the crappy Maximas and Import these instead. As Blipman pointed out, it's basicly a 350Z in a sedan/coupe shell. The 350GT is a very sweet ride... If I had the money right now, I'd probably buy one... cheaper than a 350Z...
what a joke for that price you could get a sti:thumbsup:, evo or gtr. OR you can insanely modify your ZED :zlove:
