Probably a repost although i did do a search and didn't find anything. Anyway 2000 spec insert for our standard headlight is 400 Euro so a cheep alternative to buying the real thing. I'm surprised no one has organised a group buy on these things..... http://dta-motorsport.com/
hmm that site seems pretty expensive. no the insert, its like a chrome or plastic insert that goes inside the headlights(rip off badly on that site). look close at a 2000spec z and you will c the diff
yeah that site seems mad expensive, but i have never seen those inserts before so i thought some people might be interested considering the price of the real thing. The only thing is that the HID kit might not meet australian standard, not sure about that tho.
seen these before, i'm pretty sure smithys does them and for a bit cheaper as well - except they are carbon fibre. to be honest, you could make something similar yourself for a lot cheaper. for the price you pay, you'd be better off buying the real thing!
Ah IC. Wow, for 550 euro, might as well just buy the real thing and get the benefit of the optics. Not a whole lot of diference.
That site is expensive. But still, better than paying $2500 for OEM HID spec. Also, I think to be legal, HID needs an auto-leveling mechanism installed so you don't blind traffic as the road dips etc. and wipers/cleaners so the glare isn't spread out. At least that's new ones. Not so sure on the law if they came out without that gear..
2000spec headlights for UNDER $2000 AUD Which now begs the question who would be interested in 2000spec headlights??? With the Aussie dollars current exchange rate i have found Z1 motorsports in the US to had a set for under $2000 AUD (not delivered to aus) If anyone is willing to host a GB it muight drop that price down a little bit further and im very keen to get my hands on a pair.
I'm pretty sure we've tried running a GB on 2k spec headlights before but there just isn't enough interest or savings because of the price tag. However, I'm keen as mustard.
Yeh i saw that GB, a while back and back then i didnt have the funds to participate but now ive got enough to buy a set as long as the shipping isnt $800 from the US(doutful). I know i could order one for myself but i dont have a credit card and dont bank online so a GB is probably the best method for me to get the lights. Mayb i should start a EOI GB and get someone else to order the parts from Z1 for us how does that sound??? IF we were to order the Xenon headlights today it would come to Xeneon Headlights $1,695 US = $1,923.67 AUD How do you like them apples:zlove:
PLEASE SOMEBODY START A GB ON THE INSERTS!! $200 HID kit from BANKIDS + 2000 spec headlight covers and all done!
im stuffed if i can understand why you want to blow over $2000 on headlights, when u havent even tried the $250 hid option that alot of us have
Well with the amopunt of money ppl put into engine mods and resprays youd think they could afford 2000spec headlights for a change lol.
just be cautious with those inserts. there was a member on twinturbo.net that made moulds & ran a group buy & the finished product was atrocious. maybe just have a bit of a search on there to make sure your not getting any of his leftovers... If they turn out to be a good product though then I'd be keen cheers, tim
Agreed, inserts are the smarter option. Ideally they shouldn't cost so much. They are just two plastic inserts.
