Hey, does anyone know if it is difficult to change a 2 seater Z to a four seater?? I have a 2 seater but would much prefer 4 seats!!
It's actually really easy. Convert the 2 seater into money, then convert that money into a 4 seater...
Re: Really??? It can be done, but it will never get approved, and the people in the back will have even less room than in the real 4 seater, which is sweet fuck all anyway. If you really want a 4 seater, sell the car you have now, and buy the 4 seater.
Do a search, this has acutally been asked before, amazingly! They are WAY too different! The 4 seater has a longer wheelbase to accommodate the extra seats.. it would require MAJOR structural modifications, even if it could be done it'd probably be cheaper to buy a 4 seater outright and keeping the 2 seater... and then you've got 6 seats for the price of.. um.. 6... :wacko:
How bout the Legalities of changing from a 4 seater to a two seater? Does it need an engineers cert? Would they even care if you got pulled up?
Re: How bout the Legalities This has been discussed as well. As far as I remember, you had to jump through hoops to do it legally. I can't see why, considering it's not like you are changing things structurally. Just like having the seats down. It's not like you need anything special to do that :/
Again.. Why would you? The cost vs benefits would be stupid.. and what exactly is the benefit again? Sell the 4 seater.. get a 2 seater, there's plenty of both around, buy the one that suits your needs. I don't understand why you would do either of these conversions.. it makes no sense!
To put in a custom amp rack/sub enclosure And not lose boot space. Wouldn't cost anything, (well from 4 - 2 anyways) takes like 2mins 2 remove the seats :s
Its easy Remove rear hatch. Using rope, tie two wicker chairs from Copper Art into the boot area. Put grandmother in wicker chair. Carefuly removing targas, wear a straw hat and checked flannel shirt and overalls. Your transformation is complete Jethro. You is now the Hillbillies !!! yea not really possible the 4 seater Z is longer, on the other hand I think the majority (at least a slim majority) prefer the look of the 2 seater.

Yeah, sorry, I was thinking shortening the wheelbase... I was on a completely different tangent! I can't see why reefing the rear seats out would be illegal? But then again, I can't see why not having the H pattern on youtr gear knob should be illegal either...
