the wide body kit guards As some people only wonted the rear guards done with out the rear bar. There is already a vent in the rear guard, down low witch runs into the side skirt can be seen in the my sig pic. 2+2 kit has two vents 2 seater has one vent.
errrm, yes, I would have to be a bit of a muppet to not realise the rear had vents at this stage of the game lol I wasen't very clear I guess but I for whatever reason assumed you were referring to the front guards, my mistake hehehe Ben
Hey Gonzo, Not hasseling you at all but just wondering how things are progressing. And if you get a minute maybe PM me how that rear bar is going, if it's going at all yet Thanks champ! Ben
hey gonzo, are you able to get this widebody kit without the vent in the rear guard? also, the rear bar, how much further back does it sit than the stock rear bar? (i mean how much longer does it make the car from front to back if you get what i mean...) edit: i'm talking about the 2 seater
Yes I should be able to do the guards with no vents. The rear bumper is a bit smaller in length than the stock bar. You should be able to tell by these pics as it is more rounder and shorter at the back.
Still waiting patiently for my red one And still not in too much of a hurry mate... BTW, did you find the red kit that went missing in transit???
Yep same here, not in too much of a hurry, but an update every now and then would be nice And update pics are even better! lol Ben
if you have your car low with this kit will the tyres hit the quater when you go over bumps because the stick out further?
jump on the u.k forums and ask the guys who already have this kit fitted as i dont think anyone has it out here
yep - thats why you see the widebody zeds in the UK not lowered and probably have very stiff suspension. I would cut the quarter panels and fold them up. then drop it like its hot.... Im more interested in the fuel refill and also the spacers to bring the wheel further out.
Just the wide body guards As some people just ordered the guards with out the rear bar from the kit so they can use there own rear bar.
couple of pics no they have not found the lost kit as yet and know Im waiting to be compensated for it all witch could takes a very very long time. I have started to fit my wide body kit at last. i have since made a black rear bar as this red bar was just used as a dry fit so to speak. This bar it template for the due tips. Yes I have cut my rear guards to the point of no return. So I have to keep going with this project now Looks brutal I know but this kit is for life and once it is on I dont think you would one day take it back of so cutting the guards is no big deal. If you dont cut the guards they would just bump on your wheels. And I will be able to drop the car real low. So next stage is to stickoflex and rivet every thing in place and start to body fill the edges out. I have 275 wheels on the back and as you can see they have disappeared under the guards so now I need some 31 off set wheels to bring them out flush with there huge rear guards I had the guards wielded, black tar, then layer of fiber glass and gelcoat to help keep it seals and water proof lol I glass anything thats not nailed down. Also needed to fit new fuel filler.
more pics looks like I got no ones attention since yesterday Oh well here are some more pics for me to look at then I wont be having any joins in my bumper where it attaches to the back of the car and where the guards meet with the bumper. Seamless joins
coming on nicely and looking good, gonz .... ... keep the progressive pics flowing, lad ... !!!!! .. :zlove: :zlove:
L@@King the part now Dave !! Hopefully mine will be here tomorrow So they say !lol, lol Did you just cut the rear arches or cut /bend +weld ? It certainly does make all the hassles worth-while seeing it coming together Keep your fingers crossed for me Dave for the supposed 2nd kit arrival Monday . im even thinking about praying !!
I like the two vents there - but the top one doesnt follow the right lines. It should be pointing straight and in line with the bottom one....it looks like its pointing upwards (specially the bottom line of the top vent. If you know what i mean? Also Gonz can you please send me some pics of the rear bar your working on that like the one on my car....cheers :zlove:
progress pics Thanks for you comments Baz. Lots more work to be done yet. Yes I hope you kits turns up also I im going to pack up this hobby I reckon.lol the vents Mm The bottom one is the way it was from the UK kit and the top one runs parallel to the door and window lines might to look it from the angle of the pics. But the top vent can be altered in any way and re shaped with filler during the install. And if the sound of filler is not your thing then putting a kit on your car will scare you right away from it. As It need filler to be installed as you can see from my car. But i have done heaps of car spraying and the amount of filler you put into a car about 70% is sanded back of again.
