    Got my Z back on Wed after 2 months costing $2178.05 and this is the problem;

    *BOV hooked up to boost line before throttle body!
    *Possible Timing belt out 1 notch on one of the cams!
    *Every connector plug in the engine bay loose and have broken mounting clips
    *Boost control hooked up to plenum
    *Vacume hoses not connected
    *loose clamps on all hosing
    *Battery clamped down on top of my alarm unit
    *Plastic cowling screws broken
    *Missing some small screw in cable covers near coil packs
    *Small dent near D/S headlight
    *Messed with my electronic boost control to try and stop the car freaking out, I told them to leave it as it was!
    *The car ran spot on when I dropped it to them!

    The job;
    *100k Service
    *New Lifters
    *New injector connectors

    I supplied all the parts which cost me about $1200
    totaling $3380 and a car that I now have to take else ware and get fixed costing more! :angry:

    I have seen this time and again

    especially with a few Zeds around here with broken connectors, missing bolts and loose clamps causing big boost leaks, all after a visit to the local yocal mechanic. I think every Zed owner should do a crash course in basic mechanics, buy a half decent tool set and study the technical section. So goodbye to these butchers and put the money back in your pocket or stick to the mechanics that have a good reputation. I seriously think we should talk to Mr. Field about ZedCare franchises.

    Going to fight for my money back though!

    The place that is fixing the Z has a repution but costs big $, If there is a major problem I will get it in writing and visit the first place again asking questions!:angry:

    Also if anyone has tax invoices for their 100k could they please email me a copy to tkbrown@email.com or Fax 036239 6711 - Anything to help my case would be greatly apreciated!

    No wonder it wouldn't start when you came over Wed night!!!

    I had a chance to look in Tim's engine bay shortly after he picking it up, & it wasn't pretty. Plugs & solenoids were all out of place. TPS was set fully advanced, etc... it didn't look good. Also there was some gurgling coming from the engine after it was turned off.

    I'm sure PRO AUTOMOTIVE will get you sorted. Hopefully he won't need the car for 2 months :wacko:

    This is a common problem that i think we have all experienced,

    take the car to get it fixed and it comes back worse than what it was when u took it there in the first place,i agree with 90TTZ, invest in some good tools and study the tech section. And don't let them get away with it, do what ever u can to get some sort of compansation.

    After the tech day I realise just how different the Z is from a normal car

    Seriously, most mechanics would look at it and make assumptions about what each part is doing and how it *should* be set. I had all my settings up the creek and didn't know because the car seemed to be running ok. (till the auto tentioner died) I will never let a non-specialist touch it again after seeing the inside knowledge at work, still a long way off being able to do it all my self though!

    Bloody mechanics! Sorry to hear Tim.

    Hopefully you get it back on the road soon, and your money back from the cowboys.
