Hi, Just wondering how people have gone about this. Someone in their wisdom cut and removed my double plug and only wired up the antenna wire to a single plug so the aerial in the rear window isnt being used. I wouldn't mind getting hold of another double plug....is there an adaptor you can get to go from double to single? Otherwise can I just join both wires to the one plug? Being coax it won't be fun or pretty but will it work? Cheers, Matt
Yeah It will work. Even when i have the Double diversity (name of the nissan plug) adapter I join both the antennas as the adapters are wired so the main is the on glass not the normal one. Just buy another plug and going the shields and the centers and you will be away.
300zx has two aerials..... The retractable one in the rear quarter panel and another one in the rear window above the demister. The original Bose stereo that was fitted to the zeds had a switching capability that enabled it to always source the strongest signal
I thought I new most of the kooky little details in the Z's, but I have never heard of this one! I always wondered what the other plug on the glass was for
The Soarer has umpteen aerials too. 2 for the radio, strong and weak signals. They both plug into the (jap) radio, so need 2 frequency converters. Then there are a couple of TV antennaes as well (not much good - the Jap signals don't reach here) All in the windows But, the convertible zed only has one aerial, unless that wire in the middle of the windscreen is one.
