My understanding is that this engine is not stroked. More details required pls.

Depends on your definition of stroked. It has been bored to 3.3L and it is usually recognised that anything with an enlarged capacity is considered stroked.

Lol! Not really dude. Stroked means longer stroke, not larger bore.

And how is it bored out to 3.3L? Max sized piston without sleeves is 40thou (~1mm). Sleeved blockes don't have a real good track record either...

    Mike,
    If it is indeed a 3.3, then one would hope it is bored and stroked;

Can you bore out a VG30DE block to a VG33 bore size?

It was done to at least one VG30DETT over here and it was not successful, the bores were left so thin they were flexing under boost and ..... well lets just say it was rubish.
That engine ended up being sleeved and donated to a jet boat project (that could take years to get going and will only ever be a toy).

Don't do it would be my advice. 89mm piston max."

The ad does say aftermarket crank, so there's a possibly it is stroked.

When we got the new motor from japan we got the head laser measured and acid dipped and all that stuff and we went to replace the head gasket and it wouldnt fit the cylinders were too wide and so we measured it all up and it was a wider bore and I also think that it was shorter stroke but I just cant remember. But I garuntee its all legit.

Either way that is a good price. good luck with the sale

Its going to be very hard to verify that the motor is stroked, and unfortunatley i think its going to haunt this ad.

Either way its a good price for a zed with a built motor.

stroked motor with what turbos, stock or aftermarket.........any dyno charts or power figures to back up your motor would certaily help with sale.....if it is a stroked motor at the price your selling for, its a bargain.
also, what is the rear wing, front bodykit is veilside but wing is?

They are standard turbo's and the wing was on the car when I bought it so im not sure what it is. Yes the front bar is Veilside and no I dont have any dyno sheets or 1/4 mile times because that wasnt on the agenda until more work had been done. Basically its a project cut short due to practicality as I wakeboard alot and theres no room for more than just myself in the car when I go riding...

surely it can be ascertained as to whether or not its a stroker crank by pulling a plug and measuring the stroke of the piston through a revolution. Irrelevant of degree of head facing/shaving, a stroker crank should cover more distance/displacement than an oem... or is the difference that negligible that it cannot be determined in such a crude manner?

Recall you accidentally discovering this with your replacement motor when you picked up the radiator from me. Still cheap for a rebuilt TT, but insanely cheap if it is a stroker motor.

btw- add that the new OEM radiator is less than 1000k's old

Possible, but we're only talking a 3 or 4 mm if it's been bored aswell. A depth micrometer would be the go.

ive been told this motor is stroked by others to but i suggest that you measure it as ozx 320 suggested to clear anything up
