Does anyone else's clock change time? I'll leave the car no more than a day and the clock is a different time by several hrs. If this has happened what was the cure? Is it just a capacita issue? ( no not a flux capacita
There is always one..... To clarify. It will read 100% accurate when parking the car , however next day when it's 7am the clock shows 2pm Only if I leave it for 8-10 hrs or more.
 My clock went blank one day, so I got a replacement, but it started working again just as I was about to swap it over I read a couple of things in the tech section, but the only way to fix a temperamental Zed clock is to replace it (along with the temperamental car), but if that is your most annoying problem on your Zed, pull it out and plug into a 12 volt battery and monitor it for a week. You'll know whether the problem is in the clock or the rest of the car.
Very valid point, it's my only issue (currently) At the start I thought it was me getting third and hitting the buttons. Know anyone selling a clock? Bought two dash facias but were clockless.
I modified a turbo time to fit in mine and look original. You don't need a clock in a Zed as you always arrive before you actually leave .
I'm actually about to buy a ebc, but all the ones I've looked at and have fitted on other cars myself, won't fit in there. Nothing a die grinder and a bit of emery paper won't fix... And glue don't forget the glue. Just curious, what boost controller have you got that fits? Turbo timers arent my thing won't be fitting one.
When my clock decides to die, I will modify something to fit in that space. It might even be something that replaces the guts of the clock. Might look close to original. Someone must have found a similar clock that could have its internals swapped in the Zed housing. I think I have seen a micronta brand. (Not sure of correct spelling).
The clock out of a Nissan bluebird is interchangeable... with minor modification depending on what year model donor car they come from. Colours also range from model to crisp bright green to blue. Modifications can include, but are not limited to- 1. Housings need swapping over- the screw mounts are at different heights between the 2. A very simple job, as the assembly is held together with 2 clips. 2. Plugs need changing over. Some have interchangeable plugs, some are different. Simply cut the loom from the donor car and solder it in parallel to your existing wiring, this giving you the ability to plug in your replacement clock, or an original unit, should you ever be so inclined. Also a good opportunity to cut the 12v wire that dims the clock somewhat when your park/headlights are engaged, resulting in full brilliance illumination all the time. Average price I pay from the wreckers is $5.00 per clock, and only a Phillips head screwdriver is required to remove the necessary dash section to access the clock.
Hope my clock keeps working. The reason why I think a micronta brand clock might be a good donor for internal parts is because I grabbed one a while ago, it was connected to a battery and was working and had buttons on the front. I have misplaced it right now, but will look for it and take photos next to a ruler. The face of the clock was visually similar in size as the Zed clock from memory. I didn't open it or try transferring the guts because I bought a spare Zed clock and my original is working again.
:zlove: If it goes blank it is easy to fix by replaceing two 181 ohm, 1/2 watt resistors. Look up clock fix in one of the tech section.
Had nothing to do today so tried to fix the clock, it started so I must have done something right, I couldn't get 1/2 watt so used 1 watt
