Hey guys, I'm going to be getting new wheels and wondering what the max width front and back I can go with my car. My tyres atm are 255/40/17 and that's all I know about the wheels. Any help would be great!

    Realistically

    18x9 for the front

    18x10 for the rear

You can go a little wider, but if you get the offset wrong by a small amount you'll have issues.

If it helps at all ive got 255/40r18 all round and no scrubbing at all.
Rims are 8 3/4 wide with 45off set (off of memory may be a bit lower)
Edit: I could go a little bit bigger (265) but that would be pushing the width of the rim. And start scrubbing the inner gards at full lock

I'm running 18x10.5 +42 (265/35r18) in the rear on standard guards and barely scrub.

I run 235/40/18 front & 265/35/18 rear. Never had an issue of any kind in 10 years.

    That's impressive.

The below pic was an 18x8 wheel, offset 10 (obviously too much poke)
235/40 tyre with standard front guards.

    Yeah its **** near perfect.
Plenty of room on the inside, too. With the right offset, you'd be able to squeeze an 11" wheel in there.

    Nice setup ShineyZX

Can we please have a low profile front and rear pic to show how these look... would like to copy this setup eventually with BBS rims.
    Thanks! :br:

It is worth keeping in mind that the actual tyre size can vary a bit between manufacturers.

If tyre clearance is tight then a 265/35/18 from one manufacturer may clear and 265/35/18 from another manufacturer could rub.

Just looked up my rim sizes. The offset is 35 not 45. Stock guards. Sadly my track wheels have better 'stance' then my 'show' ones

    plenty of pics there.

    18X8.5+25 fronts with 245/40/18 tires
18x9.5+30 rears with 285/35/18 tires hardly any camber and lowered significantly.

No scrubbing issues at all anymore.

Next up will be pushing to a 18x10+22 to attempt a 305 at a light bubble on the rim at the rear, moving my 9.5 to the front running a 265 with a little work im gonna play with :)

I have no idea how wide mine are at the rear but they have 235/40 tyres on them but stretched lot
