1 Screw = Car wont run >>

    Ok here's the deal i removed the ECU by undoing the screw that tightens the loom in to the ecu, now when i tried to screw it back in the thread has been damaged on the screw and i cant get the screw out to change it or whatever.. HELP what can i do cause i cant drive the car as with the screw still there i cant even plug in the ECU as a temp fix :(

    That sux.

    I know without that screw none of the terminals make proper contact.

    Sorry... can't think of any definite easy fixes.

    You can cut a new trhread into it and use a slightly bigger

    screw to fit it in, or you can use a recoil. A recoil is a type of a gadget that looks like a spring you have to get the same pitch that the screw is and put it in. If you take your ECU out and take it to an mechanic ( with decent tools ) you can fix it. I know most engineers have them around the shop. Oh and it is actually called a RECOIL so you know what to ask for.

    P.S Make sure you bring the screw from the plug with you in order to determine the pitch and size otherwise find the same type and size and bring with you.

    I thought they were called Helicoil?

    At least are in the Aircraft field.:unsure:
