    Hey guys,
The photos dont show the problem great but these are the wheels on my car at the moment. I just keep getting told there illegal, iv been driving on them for a month now with no problems but still unsure,

the fronts are 235/45/17's on 9" rims, and rears 255/40/17's on 10" rims
only problem being iv roller and pumped the front guards so their fine now, but the rears are sitting about 2 to 3 cm out of the guard as shown in the picks,

i keep getting told its illegal to have anything sit out further than the guard, what are your opinions?

    AndyMac Better than you

so you have no desire to go around a corner at any sort of speed?

That's a really bad setup there mate. A) their stretched sik drift style, and B) they still sit out 30mm or so. Sorry, you either need to flare the rear guards or get correct offsets on those wheels.

    Definitely illegal.

Wheels and tyres cannot protrude beyond the guards.
You will need to get the rear guards rolled as well.:(

i can go around corners at very high speeds, the cars on tein flex r32gtr coilovers and iv adjusted them just high enough to not scrub at all.

these came off the TT, they were used on his car before hand aswell, tyres came on it, there not "fully sick drift" style,

and i will be rolling and pumping the rear guards myself as i have a guard roller, just wanted to ask first.

We all await your post telling us about getting the defect notice removed. Hopefully it will not be a post about how one of the tyres popped off of the rim, causing you to careen into a young mothers with prams morning tea.

its not that streched, and i highly doubt it will pop off as its handled 2 track days on a 300rwkw zed no troubles.

You're probably right. I don't know but maybe there are a set of circumstances where they are not safe. A slow puncture , too much pressure? Get onto the your state's road rules and see if they are legal. The rules aren't arbitrary, they have some engineering basis for them. Bottom line is, even if they are safe, if they're illegal, it'll draw attention to your car, you'll get a defect notice, and have to spend all the time and money getting all of the other little things fixed that they pick up.

I'm not wishing it on anyone but I've seen it happen time and time again over the years.

    Best of luck,
    Evan.

    mr zed x chassis scrubbin..

    mine are the same.
you'll be fine tyre wise. its when they are over stretched its dangerous..

as for the offset and fitment, it's illegal as everyone has said, they have to be under the guard by law.
maybe destroy the tyres and increase camber then pump + flare the rears.
but it will save you from being off the road.

or sell em and get better fitments :)

but on a side note, show more pics of them lol

and only sold in japan in these widths, being 9" and 10" (at a huge cost too)

yeah ill see how far i can comfortably pump them, then go from there, cheers guys, and ill post up more pics later

haha fixing that at the moment, its a PITA
went from welded up antenna hole ready for bog, to my mate thinking he could weld it better and buckling the hole panel, not fun

and all the scratches and paint loss are from a stupid woman on the highway changing lanes into the side of me

these rims and tyres came on my TT, and i like these over my 7.5" wide rsgt's.

i rolled and pump them about 8 to 10 mm yesterday, still need to clean it up a bit but its sitting out over the tread now and looks a bit better, will be pumping them more once if got my new rear bar on as ill have to glass the pump in the bar to look normal

    Nice paint ben :p

I never really noticed it while on the cruises with ya ben, even after you telling me.

I guess that's what those torana spec chrome fender guards on the TT were for, to disguise the fact that they sit out.
