Is the car still in Canberra? Or did the accident happen somewhere else?

Oh Sh#t sorry to hear, hope you can do something with it when you get it back. Hate seeing all these zeds these days getting wrecked.
Hope all goes well, Andy :(

Sort of a good news, bad news thing, I hope it's not as bad as it sounds.

    Because of this theft

I will add more security systems to my DD NA. Once done it will pretty much need a flat-bed to steal (not a challenge to anyone LOL :))

I am also considering further security measures to both 300s (not to discuss). Although the initial hassle and cost will be a PITA, these will give much confidence and comfort. I expect that in the end it is cheaper and better to do this than go through the loss of a vehicle through theft.

I just don't understand why there has been a flood of these thefts locally. What makes ACT special ???

    Cheers,

    Peter

good way to test how good your systems are, give a mate the keys.

Sorry bout the bad news. Hopefully you can salvage most of the car. Best of luck with it.

i lock my zed up everynight and i always try and park in very obvious locations. think the cops would do more about it.

Sorry to hear about your Zed

Sorry to hear about your zed, also very sorry to hear that it was involved in a "serious" accident... Hopefully the little shits who stole it were maimed in the accident. I believe that in some Arab countries they cut thieves hands off ... maybe karma took a hand or two.

Side Note: Anyone responding opposite about the maiming part of my reply then you are quite welcome to your opinion.
But I am getting fed up with Australia's weak legal system and crime prevention.
IMO; you steal a car, break into a house ... we cut one of your hands off.
You graffiti ... we smash up your bedroom or living room.
You push drugs ... you either roll-over on your suppliers or we shot the whole lot into your veins.
You gang rape ... we cut your dick off.
You premeditate murder some ... you lose your life.
Actual those old civilizations with "an eye for an eye" had it right, unlike today's so called enlightened society.

Okay that is enough of my rant.

Oh no...I hope you can salvage most of the zed :(..
I agree with Steven..Australia's penalties are just too weak..if we actually sentenced people for a decent time the crime would stop..well that's my opinion

Really good to know that you car has been found(even if it is damaged). There's nothing as soul destroying as having it vanish and never knowing what happened, at least this way you can get some closure(and if it isn't repairable, then you may be able to recoup some money from parting it out).
Sad, but better than never getting it back.
    Keep you chin up Pat,

Ive been doing a few things when I park my car somewhere at night.....

    1) Lock the doors!!
    2) Try and choose a place to park where people walk past
    3) pull a few fuses out etc (this is a fantastic measure as i'm sure these tools stealing the cars don't know what the fuses do, let alone carry any with them)
    4) ive also resorted to using my good old steering wheel lock
    5) my rear tow hooks have also been removed.

    Scott,
Which car was stolen in Wanniassa???

On a different note, my whole street was blocked off yesterday by about 30 specially armed officers yesterday at about 3:30pm. I thought that something really bad happened at my place, but they were actually at the next door neighbours house.

    Guess what they were doing?

Apparently the two little sh#ts that live there (17 year olds) and their mates (you know the ones with the mohawk mullets) stole 7 automatic rifles and stashed them in their house.

    Thats right, 7 automatic rifles!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently they only recovered 4 of them, and because they are only 17, I bet that they'll just get a warning, and they'll be back home tomorrow. I hate it how when such low lifes get caught, but because of the legal system, they just get a warning.

I don't know how lawyers and judges have the willpower to let them off so easily. Maybe its a silly thing to say, but I bet if a judges daughter got run over by a stolen car or shot in the arse by a teenager, they would'nt get off so easily!!:mad:

Don't know what makes Canberra Special - Kinda scared to leave my baby parked anywhere down here now!!!!!

I had someone try to break into mine while I was at 'elite physique' Gym at woden. Luck for me only the drivers side door lock is stuffed.

On that note - key turns but no unlocky locky

Hope this bull sh*t theft crap stops though

i forgot to lock the door a few night.
when i woke up the other day, want to drive the car to school, then realise i forgot to lock my car.
how do the thief steal car?
start the car and drive it? (my car has big enough exhaust to wake the whole street.)
or use the truck pull it away?

Your mates are not knowledgeable with car electrics. 95 percent of car thefts the criminals are. Jumper a relay or two, hot wire, and away they go. Most alarms are not wired sufficiently enough to stop that.
