Hi All, Done my first ever Dyno today, What a fantastic day it was. I was sorta expecting numbers around 200-220 rwkw and to my surprise it managed to pull a 252 rwkw. WOW A BIG thank you to Mark & the Guys at MRC Dyno. Never felt more welcome and comfortable at a mechanics before, Great people. Learnt so much. Thanx Guys My ZED Specs; -Stock Engine Internals -Stock Turbos -Stock Inter Coolers -Stock Exhaust -16 P.S.I of Boost MAX -Had Chipped ECU (LAP Chip) Upgraded to NISTUNE ( YEAH BABY ) -HKS Type-DLI Ignition Amplifier (current one broke few days ago, getting new one in few days, could have made a little difference) OK, Dyno results are; Drive in Results with my LAP Chip was ---------------------- 224 rwkw Reprogrammed NISTUNE to stock for benchmark was ----- 170 rwkw Reprogrammed NISTUNE to Marks special recipe was ----- 252 rwkw Mark fixed my tune and sorted everything out - retuned my CAS due to out a little - giving better fuel economy - giving better performance - and making sure everything was running safe and stable. - making it a smoother run while on and off boost (was rough before) Drove home from Sydney to Wollongong and WOW what a difference, better pickup and more power through the rev range. didn't think would make much difference but damn she fly's now. Idles better & smoother, Revs smoother and cleaner. feels like a new car OK, OK, enough Jibber-Jabber, Here are the pics. Blue = Stock Chip, Green = LAP Chip NISTUNE BABY P.S. Can't wait to do some more upgrades to get Mark to Re Dyno it again to see them magic numbers. If i left anything, ask away. If anyone is thinking should i or shouldn't i, well GO FOR IT, see & feel the results, be amazed like i was. Highly Recommend a NITSUNE by MRC Dyno
Judging by AT and IT its a very accurate figure too. Is it auto or manual? power reallr drop s off at the top end of teh range though, im sure a certain amount si the boost tapering off , but probly the stock coolers too' Excellent result
ha? is that for real??? STOCK Every thing except Nistune?? Not hating here.... go hard and i hope thats true.... but i am doubting.... someone please explain?
Hmm i dont think that is right at all. My 300 is almost same setup but i got frontmount and haltech ecu and super lightwieght flywheel and i only get round 230
Must be an excellent motor..... but I tend to agree, does sound a bit too good for stock smic's & exhaust. It must be tuned to within an inch of it's life Are there any boost and afr graphs ?
It is hard to swallow. My rebuilt stock motor was extensively modified in terms of porting, flowing gasket matching etc. intake and exhaust modifications and it did over 250rwkw but at 98% injector duty cycle having said that, the bottom graph is in shootout mode and the IT AT looks fine so i dont think it has been fudged,
lol maybe. thte stock exhaust is hopeless, ive driven boosted zeds with stock exhausts and you wouldnt scare your granny in one.
Yeah, I'm not convinced that what you think is stock, is stock. Hiflowed Turbo's look like stock blowers, and are a common replacement if a seal goes, anything could have happened in the last 20 years. BUT, saying that, peak power so low in the rev range? Could be exhaust choking it up definately or charge getting too hot with the stock IC's. I made 240rwkw on 12psi with Hi-flowed, 2.5" from the dumps, pod and a tune and a fresh motor, just before it got pulled out and all the real goodies started to get attached.
only got cannon's manual all pretty stock no internals nothing else got hks pod - wow big power stock injectors what else, reading all this negative feedback damn. come look and see. next time i keep my results to my self. p.s. tune is safe
well it is a little of the mark.. take that negative feedback, and look into it ,, go get another dyno from another place and see how she goes then .. p.s dyno tell you nuthing , it just a number ,, but it is a good thing that it goes better , good luck with the rest of your work to come ,, well done
Dont let comments get you down man your pulling wicked number so just enjoy the Z, Post up your next tune after you have done a few mods will be good to see how much more power you make with bigger turbos , fmic etc.
A dyno is just a measuring stick...... and every measuring stick is different so the secret is to always go back to the same dyno/operator to gauge actual improvements. Some dynos tend to be a bit optimistic. The numbers are not relevant, you could measure it in cubic pineapples for all that it matters, as long as you are seeing higher numbers each time you make a change. You fitted a Nistune and had a few tweaks done which resulted in some higher numbers, well done. The general comments are due to the fact that those numbers seem a little high in comparison to other stock zeds. To have a legitimate "pissing competition" you really need to have everyone use the same dyno/operator on the same day.
