Well today was the first time I took the zed down the Heathcote drags .. I was quite happy with my result, considering I only have an Apexi Pod and aftermarket mufflers What I got: 1st run: 18.0497 (was taking it real easy) 2nd run: 16.8341 3rd run: 16.9575 4th run: 16.7026 5th run: 16.7333 6th run: 16.9634 7th run: 16.5216 8th run: 16.5665 Fastest run: 16.5216 at 83.94MPH Anyway, was a fun day..I loved it..but I still refuse to spin em up ...Im sure you will all be interested in seeing what Craig got in his GTR..but I'll let him tell ya
way to go, i hope you had fun. there are alot of guys out there who have never run a car down the strip! Gotta smoke those wheels up next time tho
Congrats Renee! I see you stuck stron and didnt do the burnouts 16sec odd isnt bad for a mildly modded NA auto Now I have something to aim at when i eventually get my act together and go for a fang down teh strip! One question....did you get any pics??
Hey All, Was great to see Renee give it a go and she was exactly like me the first time I went down the strip in my R31...she just kept going round and round, the bug had definitely bitten :biggrin: I was fairly happy with my result, got a 12.2 (cant remember MPH atm) on my 5th run and then the OS Gieken twin plate clutch went on me. Haven't launched a turbo car before and was pretty slow off the line, was just starting to get the knack when the clutch went on me. I'm pretty confident with a new clutch and a decent launch I could break into the 11s. Was a fun day anyway with no accidents, though 3 different types of full on drag cars all nearly put it into the wall at one stage, one was a rotary which snakied it across both lanes and even went side up on two wheels trying to correct it....crazy! Nice work Craig! Yeah 4WD launches like clutches for breakfast . Nice times mate, dam GTR's lol . Really helps getting the power down in 1st, still trying to go under 12.1, a nice set of drag tyres soon will help that wheel spin. Mattb

WELL DONE for going at all hey!!!!! I wanted to go for ages and kept bailing coz all my "im a wikkid driver and my car is soo fast" talking mates kept chickening out. WHen i eventually went (without them) it was the most awsome experience ever. Even though I blew the head on the 180sx I had at the time, and the night ended up costing me $2.5K, I still have not one single regret. Can't wait to take the zed and blow that up....erm, i mean see how fast it is. I bet your hands were shaking and your whole body was buzzing with adrenalin after the first run?? hmm? am i right?

16s isn't too bad for an NA with minimal mods and being 18 years old .. Didn't do 1-2-3 manual changes, just had Overdrive on and Power on.. By the way welcome to the forum..are you off R31 Skyline Club?
oh ok lol Must just be me haha. My first run gave me a massive buzz. Felt friggin awsome. 2nd one was pretty much the same even though I got beat 3rd was a little less. Got thrashed by a Ute, but got my fastest time of the night so was still happy Soooo can't wait to run the zed.... but not before I know she's ready
Hey Booboo, Heres the engine/performance mods done to my GTR: - R33 N1 block (supposed to be a bit stronger/refined than the 32 rb26) - R34 N1 turbos - Greddy cam gears - Sard 800cc injectors - 4" turbos back mandrel exhaust - HKS drag intercooler (not sure of exact size, but its big) - Twin Apexi power intake pod filters - Apexi PowerFC ECU Everything regarding internals, BOVs, AFMs, etc. is stock. Running at 20deg timing on 20psi, makes 322.8rwkw using Shell 98RON. Tuned by Ben at Racepace Motorsport, definitely the man to see for GTRs and PowerFC tuning. Cheers! Craig
