Doesn't change the fact that the car arrived in Australia a year before it was made.:p

The only thing I'd be sus about is that it appears to have a boost gauge. There was no boost gauge on TT's from late 94 onwards. Except on the 2K spec white face gauges. I'd be inclined to believe it is a series III (09/93 - 10/94).

But it doesn't really matter, it looks like it's in fantastic nick, and with only 19k on the clock you can't really go wrong.

Spot on Clara I think 25k is a good price as long as you have the full service history and books etc to substantiate the price and verify the klms travelled. Without a doubt it is a clean example but for top dollar the history needs to be there too. I think 25 is good I dont think he would have ever got 34k

I paid 24 for my 95 with a genuine 74000klms with books from both Japan and the one owner in Australia. Full compliance certificates everything. However mine was already modified when I purchased it yours on the other hand being more of a concourse type car will be worth the money one day if kept original and as long as you have the history/books etc

Well, I have literally spent most of today calling up every department I could think of to get to the bottom of this. I contacted Nissan Aust, RVCS, DOTARS, and sent numerous emails.

Bottom line is that the approval of the Certification Unit was cancelled on 18th June 2003. This is due to the associated RAWS company going out of business. However, after contacting RVCS in Sydney, they advised that the approval is still valid for the vehicle.

It appears that it could possibly be a 'special requirement' import from Japan, meaning that the vehicle was customised to the buyers specifications. Hence the differences noted in the photo's and comments in this thread.
The year of manufacture is not 100% confirmed, but after speaking to the depts, it looks like it was built at the end of September 1998.

I guess I'll never really know, but I'm happy that the overall condition of it is as close to 'showroom' as I'll ever find and relieved that the motor is in A1 condition.
Thanks to Tom for whacking it on the dyno for me and putting my mind at rest. 230HP for a stockie....sounds like a good starting point for it.

Rest assured, as nice as the car looks and drives now, it wont be staying stock for very long.

    *watch this space* :D

Oh nice one but seriously if it is a genuine car and late 98 keep it as is it will be worth a lot more one day than a modified car. Especially if you have all the books and supporting documentation. If you dont modify away because even if it is a legitimate car if the info can not be verified and the history checked you wont get any more money for it.

I am still looking for a genuine M30Z and would pay top dollar for the right car. Also wouldnt mind a genuine 2000 series, but both would have to have the full history behind the cars etc aswell especially the M30Z.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do as its your car and once again congrats on a great buy whatever year it is.

Have a look on the inside of some of the trim pieces.

The Boot trim pieces like the light bulb covers, There will be a date of manufacture stamped on some of those parts which should narrow it down.
