Kinda happy with the red and blue Now just have to figure why the Autometer temp gauge doesn't go above 60 C. Cheers Geoff
Looks fantastic Geoff!! Exactly what i want to do in the near future, how was it doing this, take long? Zductiv i hope your looking at this post haha
Well, it actually took about 4 hours It was the first time I pulled the cluster myself. Then when i had it all back together two LEDs didn't work so I had to pull it all out and clean then bend the connectors a little to make contact. I think I could now do it in about an hour tops.
Geoff how much was frieght? and how long for the item to get to you? also, wat type of LEDs did u get
Here is the link http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200044024265 Freight was very cheap, only a couple of dollars. Took one week to get here.
Looks awesome. Ill be doing that to mine soon. Red is aparently easier on the eyes. Check the earth at the temp sender for your gauge. Mine stayed at 60c untill i earthed it properely.
Actually, red is a much less comfortable colour, which is why it was chosen for Warning Lights, Stop Lights, Brake Lights etc (it grabs your attention and is not easily ignored).
Looks cool, but way too bright for me. I couldnt drive with all that light in my face. Does the Cluster dimmer still work ?
How many globes did you end up replacing? I followed your link to ebay - are they a straight fit in? Did you take any photos while you were doing it? Lots of quetions. Looks good, but a tad too bright for me - does the dimmer still work? Evan.
Thats awesome! I've been wanting to do red myself for a while now! Good to see it didnt take too long! Did you follow Jedi-77s tech article when putting it together?? I hope to do this over christmas
Answers answers They look bright cause it was time exposure 4 seconds. I didn't try the dimmer though, can you dim LEDs? It took 4 LEDs and they fit straight into the old globe holders. If I can do it anyone could do it cheers Geoff
hey krause, the cluster LED conversion is a direct replacement. to the OEM lights (pretty sure, according to my memory), as they dont need a resisitor. The last time i pulled my cluster out was to install the bezel, and planning to my cluster when i install the 300km speedo :zlove:
Sweet, thanks guys! Should try to get a set of the lights in the next few weeks then If/when i do, ill post up my pics as well Cheers, Andrew
