Agree with Chili 100% I have not found any other company able to match Shannons on price and insured amount. Just Cars are about 3 x the cost and would never insure any 300ZX for $27500 (Wow, thats impressive).
Well we get HBF luckily in WA Getting a while since I paid it but I think it was something like $1150 or something for 35k agreed value.
man without Shannons I would be screwed ,I have found them to be the best price by a long way and 1 of only 2 insurance companys in Australia that will insure the 300 convertible.:thumbsup::thumbsup::zlove:
You can't honestly believe that you have to buy magazines and go to car shows to be a car enthusiast. I mean fair enough you don't go to a car show if you hate cars, but there are HEAPS of people out there that don't have the time or don't want to go to those sorts of events but still love their car. This is what shits me, not the fact that they insure only enthusiasts. It's like saying just because I'm not a chef I don't like food, or just because I've never played cricket that I don't like cricket. You can't stereotype people like that.
They arent stereo typing you as such They ask these questions to asses you as a risk. Unfortunately, they have to pidgeon hole you in order to provide service to the majority of their customers. They msut have dropped thier standards, because I was told they dont insure drivers under 25. I like that idea, coz I dont want to pay higher premiums to cover for inexperienced drivers who deem the term "enthusiast" as someone who treats public roads like a race track just because they have a cpable car. It might not be you, but there are those out there, Ive seen some of them on cruises.
Go and see them in person First of all I think they only insure over 25's so check on that. Go there in person and talk to one of the guys there. I think it is a very enlightened view that they take where they try and determine what sort of person you are, not what sort of car you drive. If you don't appear to be a young hoon and a bad risk to them they can be quite well priced, and from what I've heard they are very good at honouring claims. I got a quote on the phone which was ok, but when I went there in person they immediately knocked about $800 off when I told them I'm involved with a club, have a Cams license, etc. When the guy found out I worked for J-Spec it was a done deal, he knew us well It is very much up to them how much your premium is so give a good impression. On the phone other than the questions they asked how else can they tell? Ben
