I always go on that saying you can never have to much of a good thing. Thank you for a true comment :br:

I think the oil itself is likely to be a good oil (I use penrite full synthetic myself) however I think the big issue here is its really the wrong grade/viscosity for our engines - unless you live up where the temps are never below 25-30* c even then its pushing

Even with the weight of the oil aside (I truse we all choose the right grade for our vehicles), I was researching oils for my defender, and oil selection is a minefield.
The specs that a manufacturer requires are often superceded or revised, and even then, manufacturers have and do change oil recommendations half way thru production runs. Then manufacturers have their own standards, which are a case of pay Ford/holden/nissan/etc fee, get endorsed and label your oil bottle, and supply samples for testing when requested (if at all!). Seems crooked.

On top of it all, the base oil is all the same, the additive packages they add come into it as well, but all pretty much the same thing within specifications (ACEA, SAE, etc).

I'm sitting on approx 5000km changes in the Z. Both oil and filter. And even though I might get some kind of minute benefit from a full retard race oil, in the end of the day, the engine is getting more benefit from regular changes than extended changes with a higher spec oil. I think there is a line between good enough, and throwing good money after bad. Oil works, and the additive package is depleted. After that, it stops working as well. I like to get a change in before that stage.

Lol if by "doing the right thing" you mean deleting the other side of the banter then no, you're out of luck there. Some friendly advice on two fronts; 20w60 is too thick for your car, and if you're going to start throwing names around best pick your opponent wisely.

No I did not say delete no one else. Throwing names around ?? So are you saying the makers of that oil have it wrong when they say its the oil to use in our Z32 TT ? :rolleyes2:

And you still wont answer my question ( the maker of my oil Penrite RACING 20W-60 (100% PAO ESTER)
recommend it.Iwill look at what you placed above thanking you.But this is a Z based in Australia that will see day time temps above 50c
50.c= 122.F as my Z32 TT will do runs to Longreach QLD 4730 its a 1600km run from where I am and I do it well under 20 hours straight through to Longreach. What I was looking for from Z owners that have one is there oil that they run and not the replies most they give :rofl:All so if you Rob care to take the time to check the silly comments some leave you will see why I reply back accordingly :br::zlove::rolleyes2: Nice day all hope you find my reply up to par .:agree:

20w 60 is too thick I tried it because penrite website said it's for the 300 tt but when I changed back to usual 10w 40 huge difference in response.
Light oil is easier to move.
In my opinion 20w 60 would Rob power because takes more effort to move such thick oil.
I've had no issues with 10w 40 racing.

The penrite recommandations are mostly wrong for our cars. They will be ok to run but i will always trust what the fsm recommends over a aftermarket oil company recommendation.

In my resesrch which i did to comfirm what is the best general lil thickness to use all the information i found suggest that the thinner weight oil you use the better fuel efficiency and power you will have. It also helps to lubricate the internals of the engine with thinner weight oil.

Thicker oil will do the opposite and so i believe a 10w40 hpr10 is a much better oil to use in all climates for the vg30 engine.

So to answer your question no you did not give your lady the best oil possible.

Not at all, you're the only one talking all the crap and when others try to correct you, it then becomes a shit fight from there.

We all own Zs on here, no one is jealous of anything...

Some times I wonder if this guy's a reincarnation of icer / arashi

And thats the thing oil is all opinionate and what you think is good might not be what others think is good. I went through what your doing posting everything i was doing to my pride and joy and then getting mixed if not neagtive replies. Unfortunately you will have to accept that your choice of mods wont suit everyone tastes so my advice is post more compehensive information and be more detailed in your future posts and not just random titled threads which no offense dont really provide any useful information to the rest of the community at all.

I know we've all been there and i just wanted to pass on some advice so you can avoid the bad feedback i got many years ago which ultimated changed my z project plans for the better.

I mean its great to see new threads pop up on this forum and i wish i had finished my 1200+ comprehsive build thread which i think will provide the z community with invaluable information regarding the 300zx. But until then ill leave you to provide us woth new fresh posts to keep this forum going.
