He says in the add he has 90mm Escort pistons, that is 3168cc he has rounded it to 3.2L as the stock 2960cc is rounded to 3L.

Take away the quoted power figure and what have you got ?

A high powered NA built in Japan with quality bits and an unknown power figure?

Yes, 18k is overpriced. The 9k asking price isn't.

When you sell a car, would you advertise for less than what its worth, just in case someone from overseas wants to buy it and import it into their own country?
No. That isn't a factor that you even consider.

9k is more than fair for a clean, quick, NA.
Hell, i got offered 10k for mine.

Recent auction data in Japan for 91 Z32's (both NA/TT/manual/auto), average auction price is $2500 AUD.

From Z Zone Japan's largest Z32 specialist tune house, car yard and parts supplier, you can retail purchase a 98+ manual NA in prime condition for $4500.

The advertiser of the piece a shit above is trying to jag a numpty who thinks it has a $12,000 stroker kit in it, buy the looks of things he will do quiet well.

Well, the fact that he didn't state that it has a stroker in his mod list, I don't think he's trying to pull anything like that.

A car is worth what someone is willing to pay, and if the seller gets 9k for it, good on him.
It's quite nice to see zeds with higher asking prices to be honest.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

E85, higher comp and ITB's would do wonders.

Isn't it 11:1 already, how much higher do you want to go lol.

Up the cam lift to 9.5mm and 13:1CR on E85 would be good :D

Kind of intrigued by this. Always wondered how much the VG30DE could put out if stroked to 3.5L & 3.7L, just to compare to their newer, larger brothers.

    The VG30DE is 10.5:1 (300ZX 1989-1996) makes 222HP.
    The VQ35DE is 10.3:1 (350Z 2003-2007) makes 287HP.
    The VQ35HR is 10.6:1 (350Z 2007 onwards) makes 313HP.
    The VQ37VHR is 11.1:1 (370Z 2009 onwards) and makes 332HP.

    The VG30DE brought in VTC.
The VQ35DE went one step further and brought in CVTCS.
The VQ35HR added nothing major, but just increased compression a bit.
The VQ37VHR brought in VVEL and upped compression again.

Simplest way to compare I suppose would be to compare HP/1L which comes out like this:

    VG30DE 74HP/1L
    VQ35DE 82HP/1L
    VQ35HR 89.5HP/1L
    VQ37VHR 89.7HP/1L

If you compare this VG32DE, it's a little tricky, as the 258 PS (254.5HP) figure appears to be to the ground? ...not at Flywheel like the rest of the manufacturer quoted figures above.

Using a 15% Powertrain loss guesstimate I get:

    VG32DE 11.1:1 making 299HP, or 93.4HP/1L

Thats a 19.4HP/1L increase over a factory VG30DE, and even beats out the VQ37VHR by 3.7HP/1L which has the same compression.

    (For laughs: VG30DETT 8.5:1 makes 300HP, or 100HP/1L)

    Discuss...

    Cheers,
    Emile
