Hey Guys, Trying to pull my NA Auto gearbox, can seem to find any how to's on this I have all weekend to do it but Im doing it with jacks\chox and solo so any advice or help would be appreciated.... further more a carton to anyone in Perth who wants to swing by who have done it and give me a hand! cheers.
Probably an idea to let people know what suburb you are in Exhaust off Heat shields off Tailshaft off Wiring to GB disconnected Undo all GB bolts (you won't be able to get to 1 bolt at the upper left of the GB (as viewed from below, looking to front of car)... use 2 500mm (Yes! 1m long) extension bars to get to it, and put a handle on it. Then put a couple of jacks under it and pull it off and lower it.
Setup a Tech day. You will need two cartons of beer, 2 Kgs of snaggers and about 3 bags of hotdog rolls. Other than that, nothing else will be required. Ok, maybe a selection of sauces.
I had a photo guide somewhere but hear are some links.. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_do_you_go_about_removing_the_automatic_gearbox_from_a_1990_Nissan_300_zx_twin_turbo?#slide=1 http://www.aus300zx.com/forum/showthread.php?t=289433 http://www.twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2336686/Removing-and-Installing-the-auto-transmission.html
auto box removal This is an auto box so you will have to disconnect the torque converter and dont forget the gear selector and starter motor. I always drain an auto box before removing them.
