How do you calculate that ? Post is light on so it will be up towards $700AU I rekon. If the post office does not spit it out for being too big. (fingers crossed)
I certainly do and it could of been had for less with a bit of haggling, but it was good to see that one sell as it verifies a market value, thanks ! That why I was a bit picky with your pricing.
No offence man, but from memory yours had a huge crack and you wanted $1000 right? Even with haggling, I wouldn't pay more than $500 + postage.
Dunno if I would describe it as a HUGE crack, easily fixable. Preparing for paint is part of the deal with this sort of thing, not a big deal. Mine has the original garnish trim that goes across the back with it, even harder to come by than the wing. I had opened up to offers via PM, and a savvy buyer could have negotiated.
There is a black plastic piece that is full width and covers the bolt holes, sort of looks like a 3rd brake light shape but made from 1mm thick plastic and is stuck on. I reckon you could make something nice out of black acrylic sheet with rounded edges to match the tail lights, if you are keen I can make a paper template for you. For $1000 dollars ! lol jokes I would do it for nothing.
couldnt you cut it all out, smooth it off and just run a stock 3rd brake like infil panel? thats what id do and probably look better too
this, I'm pretty sure these are dean's plans as well. Maybe a stock infill would fit there in place of the garnish anyway...
Yup, thats the plan! I saw those bolt holes in the pics in the ad, was wondering how you hid them. The current plan is to cut it out to suit the third brake light infil panel, we'll see how we go when I get it. Still might hit you up for that template though John!
No worries on that, I would be interested in how you go, as I have a newish 3rd brake light and the TK may still end up on my car.
Interior Part 1 Yesterday I went and picked up my late model Recaro's, was super happy with the condition of them, plus the service J-Imports (who supplied me them) provided. Would be more than happy do deal with them again! After I picked these up I went by Adam's house to pick up the full black suede interior kit that I was swapping my velour for. Was great to have everything coming together, all that was needed was the seat rails which are in the mail. Needs MOAR parts Decided today that I should get a start on the swap, so Adam came around and we got cracking. The suede kit Adam provided was in excellent condition, was exactly what I was after. Quick shot of the velour, last time I'll see this! Some comparison shots. Then we got started! Had to swap over the glove box lock barrel so I could still lock it with my key. Alex popped around for a bit and jizzed on the new suede Front half of the car done, bar the door cards. Comparison between the velour door card and the suede glove box. Then moved onto the rear panels, got them done without a problem, unfortunately I forgot to take pictures. Thought we'd get started on the door cards, even though I didn't have my new speakers in place yet, when this happened... Adam has had these in the box he received these in for over a year. He didn't unwrap them cause he didn't want to mess up the bubble wrap after his circumstances changed. Would be easier to sell/ship that way when it came time to sell. So they must have been damaged in transport from Japan, and Adam is at no fault. So now I'm currently rolling around like this, who needs door cards anyway right? Next step for me is to go to a re-upholstery shop tomorrow and see if they are repairable. The odd thing is both door cards are damaged the same way in the same place... Very odd. Put in for a quote on new rear seat, center console, both boot and arm rests leather. I want the interior perfect after all this trouble! Going to go a subtle genuine black leather on black stitching. Oh, and found out later I didn't install the lock back into the glove box correctly, so now it doesn't close. Ohh well, no one said it was easy, or cheap, owning a Z :zlove:
Ooowww crap I'm not sure you can fix that. I'll have to have a look at it tomorrow dddaaaammmmnnn even I'm cut now. I was hopping they were not damaged in a spot where you can see it. Shit Take them in and see what they can do.
I know, tell me about it! Tomorrow I'm taking the doors to the guy who retrimmed my dads falcon, we'll see how we go...
Interior Part 2 + Roofwing! Dropped off the damaged door cards at the re upholsterer that re trimmed my dads coupe years ago, good friend of the family it turns out. He said the damage is pretty bad, but he will do what he can to repair it back to OEM spec. Glad that's sorted! Got a chance to leave the Zed indoors over night, so I took the opportunity to finally do this... Which ended up turning out like this..! Pretty happy with how it turned out, but as you can see it had to be held down with weights because it was fairly straight and not contoured to the back windscreen. Ahh well, doesn't really matter now. With the new door cards, I am able to replace the 6x9's that I had to use due to the previous owners ignorance. Decided to go with a set of Focal 165KR2 component speakers. They look the part and everyone I've spoken to says these are an amazing speaker, can't wait to hear them. Took the chance to apply some sound deadening to the door seeing as the door card was off. For anyone that wants to attempt this, it's a very easy job. The only advice I really had was to try and cover up all holes so the door was basically a sealed box. I used Focal sound deadening as it was recommended by SSV, but I think it's all the same stuff. It's not completely finished yet, but already there is a massive improvement in the sound when the door is closed. Sounds much more solid, almost like a euro More tomorrow hopefully, things are looking up! :zlove::zlove:
Looking good dean! the car has come a long way since i saw it wayy back last year as a stocker Love the style, keep it up.
Hey aah, I'm not copying you or anything like that (even though our rides are much the same colour) but I just bought the same roof spoiler on the weekend. At least this way I'll know how it will look.
